Amazon is a company that most people have used to do online shopping. If they have not used it, they have at least heard of. Starting off Amazon was a book retailer. Now, it provides on line shopping where you can purchase new or used items of all sorts. Amazon has made substantial changes in its structure to keep up with change in the sales market. In the past, the company has focused its attention on becoming the number one internet retailer. They have beyond reached that goal. That is until Google and Microsoft changed their infrastructure and have taken over the spot.

Amazon has decided to come up with a change in their infrastructure, by offering different services. These services include Simple Storage System (S3) which charges companies per gigabyte to store their data and applications. Another service Amazon provides is called Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2). With an EC2, processing power is rented out per hour for the equivalent of a basic server. Amazon is looking to expand their horizons to provide a much larger network and more options for the growth of their company.

Providing these services to other companies is a way for the company to grow. However, there are possibilities of many errors. With information being passed from one organization to others through their site, there are possibilities of database errors. To eliminate this possibility, Amazon has created different entities within the system that have specialties that can eliminate mistakes. If they can get this to work as they plan, they have a possibility of becoming the next Google. Some believe that straying from its path is strictly online shopping; they are going to damage the company. However there are those that believe if they can provide these services, along with making the web site more organized they are going to be a force to be reckoned with in the constant changing IT…...

...Web 2.0 Olesya Kinda XBIS/219 Bernie Cory 08/02/2013 Web 2.0 is defined as a loose collection of information technologies and applications and of web sites that tend to use them (Rainer, page 146, 2009). The best way to describe web 2.0 to someone is along the way. Some people (like me) are visual people so opening Google chrome or internet explorer would be a faster way to describe Web 2.0. Web 2.0 is used for internet use, blogging, wikis, and or tagging. I would tell the person that web 2.0 is something that we use on a daily business whether on a computer or our phones. The great advantage with web 2.0 is that it is accessible any time of day. It allows us to connect to our peers on social networks such as LinkedIn or Facebook. This allows companies to view any important information with a click. Another big advantage that I see with Web 2.0 is that data is accessible by almost anyone. So if a company wants to go into business with another firm the smart thing would be to search the firm’s information and get all the data one may need. Of course when there are advantages there are also disadvantages. One downfall of web 2.0 is when an individual uses a source such as wikis it is not as credible. This is because anyone can create a wiki account and change other individuals work. The other disadvantage is that people are becoming much smarter with technology and know how to steal people’s information which can lead to stolen identities. Web 2.0 has had a......

...name and the employee’s total sales as these methods were not accounted for in the Sales Person’s original program. Once these changes were made the code compiled without issue and fulfilled all of the requirements of the week four coding tasks. No other adjustments were needed because of the flexibility seen with object oriented programming. When working with multiple developers in a large project, having a program that is modular is crucial as code can be checked in or out with ease. For this assignment we took parts of what is the same program and put them together in a mish-mash of code to complete this java program we all have worked hard on for the past few weeks. We learned how the misplacement of a few lines of code would change the results of what you are trying to achieve with your program. We learn the importance of strings and loops and why each is important to a program. We learned with the OOP you can bring together the hard work of different programmers to build on solid program that you as a team can be proud of. Showing that any piece of code can be changed and can be switched moved around and replaced by other code is one of the great points to this language we call JAVA. Coding is a hard task and as well have learned these 5 short weeks it can be fun as well....

Journal 2 Week 2

...Journal Two: Identifying Conflict in Two Texts Read About Journals in ENG125: Introduction to Literature for more information about the purpose and expectations for journals. This week, you continue writing your journal entries. This journal entry is designed to help you document ideas about conflicts in literature, which will contribute to the information required for the Week Three Draft and the Week Five Literary Analysis. Recognizing conflict is essential to understanding the various commentaries literature can provide.  In Journal One, you identified conflict as it might appear in our everyday world and from other sources. Now, consider the following definition of conflict and how it relates to literature from the textbook or the story/poetry links provided under the requirements for the Literary Analysis:  Conflict is opposing actions, ideas, and decisions that hold a plot together...the struggle that shapes the plot in a story.  Chapters 1-7 of our text contain a number of stories and poems, each of which rely on at least one conflict. Choose two of this week’s assigned literary works and write about the conflicts presented in each of them. In 250 to 500 words Individual versus Society --- “Still she had come down the road toward the big white church alone. Just herself, an old forgetful woman, nearly blind with age” (para 3.1,2) --- appears to be the main conflict in Alice Walker’s narrative ironically, yet metaphorically named "The Welcome Table”.......

...on a piece of paper that he would keep the offer open for two weeks. Johnny how ever found another car that he was interested in purchasing. This was just a week into the agreement. Mark was not happy about the fact that Johnny went and purchased a car without giving him the full two weeks to make up his mind as into if he was willing to sell the car or not to Johnny. Johnny then told Mark that he is revoking his offer. Mark was not happy with this at all. To make things a little better, Johnny gave Mark a promise to pay him 10,000 dollars for some work Mark had previously helped him with around his home a year or so ago. Mark took that offer. About a week or so later, Johnny reneged on that promise to pay Mark the 10,000 dollars for his help. Mark was very upset at this point. Mark decided that he was going to sue Johnny for the breach of contract for the car as well as the promise to pay for the help that he had given Johnny for the amount of 10,000. When it comes to breach of contract there must be a promise made. A promise is a declaration that binds the person who makes it to do or not to do a certain act. An offer is a promise or commitment to perform or refrain from performing some special act in the future. Johnny made the offer to Mark to buy the car, Mark did not ask Johnny if he wanted to purchase the car. Mark just informed Johnny that he would leave offer that Johnny made open for two weeks to figure out if he wanted to sell the car that he never......

...Week 2 Assignment Monica Callis, Week 2 Assignment The four functions of management can be affected by internal and external factors such as globalization, technology, innovation, diversity, and ethics. The functions of management are not immune to these factors no matter how big or small the organization. Even an organization as large and complex as Apple is affected by these factors. Globalization Globalization has become a key factor for large corporations to excel above the competition. Who would have thought that the production of a computer being made in a garage in 1976 would have emerged into sales being over $750 million by 1982 shortly following Apple being incorporated in 1977? Globalization had to be a major influence to Apple’s revenue. It is known that globalization brings greater opportunity to a broader market while promoting competitors that will require a superior level of competence for any organization that will take advantage of it. Apple has made great profit by globalizing their company. Annual reports show that international sales take the lead in bringing in sales and are continuing to rise which is the result of good management. From my understanding, Apple had been trying to market Korea with their products for a long time since Korean market for the Cellular phone and mp3 market had been rising rapidly. The iPhone was the only phone that could not get into Korean market. They had studied the audience and the market very well and......

...Club IT, Part 2 XBIS/219 March 18, 2012 Club IT, Part 2 Club IT is a hip and trendy downtown music venue developed by Ruben Keys and Lisa Tejada (Rainer, 2009). Club IT is a social club that offers live music entertainment along with food and beverages. Club IT’s mission statement defines the nature of the business and the delivery of goods, products and services to its consumers. The owners of Club IT mission statement are “We, Ruben and Lisa, offer you live music, DJ's, dance space and refreshments that suit your lifestyle. You are our friends, and we seek to build a community that meets regularly at Club IT” (Wiley Higher Education, 2011). Club IT is a social gathering place that combines the love of music, entertainment and friendship. Club IT provides a range of live music and DJs. The clientele they want to attract is more on the sociable, dancing, and music listening crowd. The project method that I would use for system analysis would be agile development. Three business problems of Club IT would be the slow Internet system, which is, dial up, expand their selections on their food menus, and adding more activities within the facilities for the patrons. Dial up is a very slow Internet system, which needs to be upgraded by Club IT. The Club will benefit by upgrading to a high speed Internet service to better accommodate their guest. It would be very convenient to the customer if they can use Wi-Fi. This will make a huge difference when......

It includes eight different tables. Offices, employees, customers, orders, order details, payments, products, and product lines. By using this software program the user can generate reports based on the data entered. The website also includes an ER-diagram which shows the different departments or types of data and how they are tied to other departments. The software allows for data to be entered by multiple sources, such as different stores and incorporates that data and combines that information to give the company a better picture of the entire company. Of course, information generated by data entry is only as good as the data entered. It is critical that companies train employees to correctly enter data into the system. Incorrect data entered into the system will generate reports that will not be accurate. There are several options available for companies. One option would be to purchase software for data management. Another option which is steadily growing is hiring a firm to store your data as well as manage the data as well.
