...The marketing services of XYZ#1 Marketing (2005) are aimed at business plan development, strategic marketing planning, and promotion of that plan and products. The site presents the business plan development as a marketing function. This is in agreement with Peter and Donnelly (2010), which states that marketing management, should be involved at the high level of business plan development. This strategic planning is where they start when promoting their marketing services. The best statement to support this is under the XYZ#1 Marketing (2005) sites business plan section, “Great ideas can get passed by if invention, innovative thought and implementation of ideas (usually the core competencies of those starting a new company) AREN'T presented properly.” The organizational mission is discussed through funding (gaining the resources) and development and promotion of products (Donnelly & Peter, 2010). XYZ#1 Marketing presents this as the development of the business plan from the funding, market analysis, production based on that analysis, and finally promotion of the company and products. The next section of the site covers development of the marketing plan for individual products. They do not mention situational analysis specifically, but do talk about a couple of the components, the competitive and cooperative environments (Donnelly & Peter, 2010). The competitive environment is the interaction of the company’s resources all working toward the same goal. The......

It is a disciplined effort that produces fundamental decisions and actions that shape and guide what an organization is, who it serves, what it does, and why it does it, with a focus on the future. ...Planning Strategic Planning Process Shelia Quinn Keiser University Dr. Jeff Ritter Marketing Management Knowledge and Skills MKT531 March 7, 2013 In order for individual departments in an organization to come up with a business plan, there must be a plan in place for the entire organization. This plan must meet the needs and add value for the customers, employees, and investors (Peter & Donnelly, 2013, p. 7). In order to arrive with a comprehensive plan, strategic planning must be done first. Strategic planning involves developing an organizational mission, organizational objectives, organizational strategies, and an organiztional portfolio. Once this has been accomplished, managers can develop plans for the individual departments (Peter & Donnelly, 2013, p. 7). This paper will take a look at each of these steps in the strategic planning process. Organizational Mission Every organization should have a strong and clear mission statement. This statement describes why the company exists, the direction the organization is going, and how they are going to succeed. It has to be a statement that everyone can connect with and understand (Peter & Donnelly, 2013, p. 8). When developing a mission statement management must look at the company’s history, competencies, and environment (Peter & Donnelly, 2013, p. 9). The history of accomplishments and failures of the company need to be considered to keep the company growing. The company also needs to......

...Strategic Planning MT460: Management Policy and Strategy Strategic planning is a critical part of running a successful business. By anticipating environmental changes and unexpected internal and competitive demands, a strategic management team can plan for company’s long-term goals. “Different from classic business planning, the strategic variety involves vision, mission and outside-of-the-box thinking”, (Evans, 2010). Formulating a strategic plan helps executives to make an organized road map that spells out where an organization is going over the next year or more and how it’s going to get there. “Strategic management is the set of decisions and actions that result in the formulation and implementation of plans designed to achieve a company’s objectives,” (Pearce, 2013). These decisions are based on the strategic management process, a flow of information that moves through interrelated stages of analysis towards a future goal. The information involved in this process is historical, current, and forecast data on the operation and environment of a business, (Pearce, 2013). Considering the values and priorities of influential groups like stakeholders, managers evaluate the data found in strategic management process and formulate strategy that achieves the company’s long-term mission. Establishing a vision, mission, purpose, and philosophy or goal is another important part of strategic planning. A company mission is, “The unique purpose that sets a company apart......

Strategic Planning

...Introduction to Strategic Planning in Administration There is so much Strategic Planning that goes into Administration that many people are unaware of. Often the administration team is swept under the rug and what we do goes unnoticed because Administration is associated but not limited to filing, answering phones, making copies, coordinating meetings, putting together policies, maintain websites, paying vendors, developing academic programs, maintain reports with parents and so forth. The list goes on and on and every step and task is just as important as the least important. I chose Strategic Planning in Administration because the administrating team does majority the tedious task to make the daily operations run more smoothly. So the big question is why is Strategic planning so important in administration? Strategic planning is so important because it is the “road map” to the success of the company. It helps a company have more organization on where to focus, where resources will disburse and to make sure everyone is on the same page. Strategic planning is critical to business success and differs from classic business planning; the strategic variety involves vision, mission and outside-of-the-box thinking. Strategic planning gives you a better understanding on where you want your company to go, not necessarily how you're going to get there. However, like all other "travel plans," without knowing where you want to go, creating details on how to arrive are meaningless.......

...Strategic Plan (Goals) Goals are an important component of successful plan execution. Plan implementation involves identifying goal objectives/action steps that offer project guidance, and promotes task completion. CanGo has systematic issues that require changes to their current processes. Goals and objectives will need to align with the organization’s strategic plan, and include strategies that allow both managers and subordinates to have collective input. This includes input regarding how information is shared, how tasks are assigned, and what projects are selected. CanGo’s Senior Managers will need to assess each Project Manager’s skill-set, and assign projects based on demonstrated knowledge, ability, and experience. Another strategic goal that CanGo can use to assist with organization and goal prioritization: is the implementation of a Gantt chart. A Gantt chart is a series of horizontal lines that indicate the amount of work completed in specific time periods, in relation to the amount of time planned for those time periods. It has the ability to show actual progress which will give CanGo’s Project Managers the opportunity to provide project updates or to ask for support should the project become unproductive. To increase project success CanGo will need to adhere to standard project guidelines, (who, what, when, why, and where) in order to gain better control of outcomes. CanGo’s failure to effectively communicate the goals and objectives, has led to stagnant,......
