...Critical thinking is a process that many people use on a daily basis. The website Criticalthinking.org defines critical thinking as the intellectually disciplined process of actively and skillfully conceptualizing, applying, analyzing, synthesizing, and/or evaluating information gathered from, or generated by, observation, experience, reflection, reasoning, or communication, as a guide to belief and action ( Scriven, Paul, 2007). Critical thinking helps in making rational and better decisions in life. When used correctly the process of critical thinking can, among other things, help solve problems, help make minor choices, and help make major life changing decisions as well. The more that an individual uses critical thinking, the better that the individual will improve and develop in their critical thinking skills (Carter, Bishop, Kravits, 2007). When issues and conflicts arise the use of critical thinking can give a great help and be a huge benefit in finding the best way to successfully handle and resolve the problem. Critical thinking has been a tremendous benefit to the writer over the years especially at the workplace, which is currently at a recreation center. The writer must use critical and rational thinking almost every single day at the workplace. The memo shows how well the ‘top of the pyramid’ knows their employees. The list goes from personal to professional information. The CEO has information and knows what was left from Michael Grant. Perillo is being tested with his character having to deal with ethical issues, which is the case of memo#4, and also being tested with professionalism and time management. ...KAIBIGAN - Talumpati ko Sino nga ba sa ating ang walang tinuturing na kaibigan? Sinasabi nga na “No man is an island”. Sabi nga nila “Tell me who your friends are, and I tell you who you are”.

...Learning how to paint a rose is like learning to write, it takes a little practice but soon your roses will look great. I drawed the painting by oil painting , i choose two colors with it shades . i choose natural colors it make it beautiful and shine. My color scheme: Green is an emotionally positive color, giving us the ability to love and nurture ourselves and others unconditionally. A natural peacemaker, it must avoid the tendency to become a martyr. Being a combination of yellow and blue, green encompasses the mental clarity and optimism of yellow with the emotional calm and insight of blue, inspiring hope and a generosity of spirit not available from other colors. Green promotes a love of nature, and a love of family, friends, pets and the home. It is the color of the garden lover, the home lover and the good host. This color relates to stability and endurance, giving us persistence and the strength to cope with adversity. Green is the color of prosperity and abundance, of finance and material wealth. Amazon vs Bn

...Measuring Price Competition Online: Amazon vs Barnes and Noble Kristofer Rato Panther ID 1947207 FIN 6644 Global Financial Markets Dr. Krishnan Dandapani Abstract In the paper, we will focus heavily on measuring prices and price competition online between the two leading bookstores, Amazon and Barnes and Noble. You will see a comparison of publicly available data on the ranking of sales of approximately 20,000 books. By matching this information to prices, we can directly measure the demand facing both companies as well as create a price comparison for online books. As you will see throughout the paper, the results will show that the demand at Barnes and Noble to change in its price is much more than is the demand at Amazon. Background and Data Amazon began selling books online in 1995 and are considered one of the first electronic commerce firms. Only 4 years thereafter, books were the second largest retail segment sold over the internet (BCG, 2000). According to Forrester, online book sales grew from essentially nothing in 1995 to more than $2 billion in 2000 (Forrester, 2001). In the US today, online book sales make up between 7.5% and 10% of total book sales (American Booksellers Association, 2002). The two most dominant competitors in today’s online book sales are Amazon and Barnes and Noble. These firms account for more than 85% of online book sales. We are not going to mention that Amazon’s book, music, and DVD sales are approximately four......

...hjedbhbkjd sbckdb snddsStrategies for Reaching Global Markets It seems as if Starbucks tends to expand into global markets through joint ventures. As Kelly and McGowen (2012) explain a joint venture is when multiple companies come together in order to pursue the same goals and opportunities (Kelly & McGowen, 2012, p. 43). Taking this a step further, it seems as if the joint ventures that Starbucks pursues are set up more as partnerships. A partnership, as defined by Kelly and McGowen (2012), is a “voluntary agreement under which two or more people act as co-owners of a business for profit,” (p. 43). As recently as January 2012, Starbucks entered a joint venture with Tata Global Beverages to begin opening and operating Starbucks cafes throughout India (HT Media Ltd., 2012). Also, according to Carol Matlack (2008), there is a major difference between the way Starbucks stores are owned and operated within the United States versus without. Inside the U.S., close to two-thirds of their stores are owned by Starbucks while outside of the U.S. about two-thirds of their stores are partnerships. This makes sense for the Starbucks Corporation because they are able to align themselves with partners who may already have working knowledge of what it takes to run a business in other locations outside of the United States. They can also help by taking on some of the costs associated with expanding into new markets, making the move less of a risk and financial burden on......

...When Erin Gruwell was assigned a class full of students who were labeled "at risk," she had no idea the challenges she would face. Many would have balked at what seemed like an insurmountable, Sisyphean task. On their website, the Freedom Writers explain that "on our first day of school, we had only three things in common: we hated school, we hated our teacher, and we hated each other." A novice teacher with big ideas and an even bigger heart, Gruwell refused to allow her students' lives to become self-fulfilling prophecies. By holding them to high standards and presenting them with countless opportunities, Gruwell gave these students a chance to overcome the limitations imposed on them by society. Gruwell encouraged her students to "do something different, something memorable, something powerful and humane." In response to the overwhelming popularity and success of The Freedom Writers Diary, Erin Gruwell established the Freedom Writers Foundation which "promotes acceptance and innovative teaching methods in classrooms around the country." Proceeds from the sale ofThe Freedom Writers Diary go to the Tolerance Education Foundation, which was established to pay for the Freedom Writers' college tuition. Today, teachers and students around the globe can bring the original Freedom Writers into their classrooms via an online video chat. Erin Gruwell now serves as the president of the Freedom Writers Foundation. Her work has been featured on The View, Good Morning America,......
