Yellow sapphire ring

Long gone are the times when blue was the only color associated with sapphires. With every leap mankind has taken, new wonders in every field have come to the forefront, yellow sapphire being one of them. Cheerful, sunny Yellow is synonymous with success, self confidence and power. Universally, yellow sapphire rings are worn for therapeutic, medical and spiritual reasons .The power of yellow sapphires is such that it is reported that by wearing it the girl of your dreams will become yours truly and if girls wear it they will find their true prince charming.

The history of yellow sapphires is very interesting. For ages, the inside people of gem trade guarded its existence and found this magnificent stone worthy of nobody less than royalty. Considered to be the safest stone in gem industry for its neutral effects on the people with which it has least compatibility and exceeding effects on those it suits, it is the most valuable gem, coming second only to the diamonds.

In fact the diamonds and sapphires are very much alike in appearance and luster. It is the unique chemical structure of each which sets them apart. It is often said that a naked human eye can’t easily distinguish between these two beauties. Like diamonds, sapphires also exist in various hues and shades, depending on the type of impurity impregnating its internal structure. After chemically analyzing it, it has been found that iron, aluminum and florin are present in it. The yellow sapphires were originally found in the lands of Srilanka and India.

In several cultures all over the world, yellow sapphires have great astrological significance. Wearing a large yellow sapphire ring brings peace, good luck and prosperity. It is the symbol of wisdom and wit. It exudes a calmness and serenity which enables the wearer to deal with his day to day activities with the attitude of a winner. Apart from this, ladies will agree that wearing unique, eye catching and one of its kind yellow sapphire rings will no doubt add an extra oomph to their outfit and personality and give it a warm accent on grayest of the days. You can always wear a small, delicate ring with formal attire or a large, eye catching piece on fancy occasions and be the centre of attention.

Additionally, different colored sapphires can all be worn simultaneously depending on the mood and they will still look beautiful. Sapphires are often confused with the mood identifying opals because they have the ability to change color based on the intensity of light they are exposed into. Yellow, green, pink, violet, blue and purple are just some colors which these sapphires can show. The color changing ability has nothing to do with the change in mood in fact it’s the following three factors which play a major role in the color changing abilities of sapphires.

Hue: The hue is what you see as the color.
Saturation: The saturation describes the brightness or vividness of the color.
Tone: The tone refers to the darkness or lightness of the color.

Yellow sapphires are found in a range of hues from smooth transparent light yellow to deep greenish yellow and orange yellow. Sometimes the yellow in these sapphires can be so pale that it can be deemed as a transparent white sapphire. Deep golden sapphires with a tint of orange in them are considered to be the finest type of yellow sapphires. The deeper the color of the stone the more it is valuable. Mostly these gem stones are cut in oral shapes with multiple facets to retain maximum weight of the stone and highlight inclusions like feather, color zoning, crystals or the natural fissures etc

Because of their distinctive value in history, these stones are favored by men and women all over the world. Buying yellow sapphire rings is a safe bet as they are astrologically suited to every kind of nature and make for wonderful rings to celebrate your past, present and future with your loved one. ...player in the garments export business, it doesn’t have any well-known global fashion brand. YELLOW sought to change all that. Its inception from Beximco Textiles, however, was more of an experimental project. Relying on Beximco’s brand name and its integrated vertical supply chain, Yellow began with the vision to be a high-street fashion brand known internationally. Despite numerous “possible” competitors, YELLOW acknowledges only two local brands as its opponent. The scanty competition let YELLOW earn a profit of estimated BDT 200 million in 2012 by selling casual wears to mostly the well-off youth. The intended customers are deliberately targeted by YELLOW using subtle promotional programs in order to maintain its exclusivity. Its marketing efforts also include directly selling to the customer and personalized customer care. As a part of being exclusive, it is planning a store in U.A.E and other countries where all the elite brands are congregating to; while domestically, YELLOW wants another seven to eight stores. All the data mentioned were collected various sources – interview and survey being the primary data sources, and websites being secondary data sources. The survey was conducted online using a random sample of 46 people. The highlights of the findings are listed below: 1. Male to female ratio was 3:2 which conforms to the company’s male to female product ratio. 2. YELLOW was the most preferred brand in a choice five popular local brands. 3. Customers weigh......

...Maria Mortensen Yellow 1) The short story, Yellow, by Peter Carty is called Yellow because the main character, Jon, thinks that he is Yellow, a coward. He is forty years old, and is a second-string writer for a London listings magazine. Jon has completely lost faith in himself. But is he a coward? He is sent on the scuba-dive course because no one else from his work would go, he has problems with his girlfriend, and he is an alcoholic. Ones first thought is that he is lazy, a bit of a failure. He seems completely disheartened, and like he has given up on life. That is a bit odd given that he is about to face an amazing experience. When diving, Jon faces the extreme, beautiful, hash, and pure nature. Most people get overwhelmed when experiencing such rare nature, as you do when you dive. Imagine this beautiful deep blue ocean, and being right in the middle of it, it must be so scary and then life-affirming at the same time. In the text “What Is Reckless Op About?” you hear about how pushing yourself to you limits, as you do when you skydive, can make you live your life, and love your life. But Jon reacts in a completely different way. He describes the ocean as “horrifying”, and “deadly”, he is afraid of the water. As his diving instructor, Berto, says; he is very close to his panic level underwater. Even though he manages to overcome his fear, he still feels useless and empty. Suicide seems to be a release to him, it’s like he can’t find any joy at all in his life at......

...Yellow In this short story, “Yellow”, Peter Carty confronts Man with the fear that persists in the emptiness of the unknown. Through the experiences of the main character, Jon a second-string writer of a magazine in London, Peter Carty reveals human nature under pressure, whether it is in the deep blue sea or in the face of suppressed reality factors.       The story is set in Egypt as we hear in the first sentence: “Welcome to Egypt! Welcome to Egypt.” And Jon, the protagonist, is the only person the reader gets to know. Jon is on a business trip to Egypt where he is going to write an article. He does not volunteer, but felt obliged to do so by his editor. This is clearly reflected in his attitude towards the whole course. The first challenge is to put on the gear and go underwater. After almost drowning, Jon goes back to his room and drinks a bottle of gin. After he has completed the pool exercises, he and his fellow student, Brian, set out to the sea to practice switching their mouthpieces. Once again, he fails to complete the task and is encountered with the loathed emptiness of the deep. He makes an attempt to reach the surface and in the last minute, Berto, the coach, grabs him and thrusts a mouthpiece in his mouth. The next day, on the way to the bay, he reflects upon his life and considers the possibility of surrendering to his fears as he descends in the water. As a result of this thought, he removes his mouthpiece and attempts suicide. Jon is harshly introduced......

...Yellow Sometimes life can be hard. Sometimes life can be inhuman. It depends on how you look at it. We are all humans, but all as different as night and day. Especially when it comes to how we live our lifes. Jon, Berto and Brian, three very different persons who is together about the same thing. It could be a big success, but Jon doesn’t like the idea one hundred per cent. That means he is the biggest challenge, booth for the team and for himself. Jon seems to be dynamic and brave, but when we are looking down in the story, he is not so perfect as we thought. His relationship to alcohol is problematic and his love life could be better. He works on a magazine, but it isn’t sure he is a journalist. Jon is sending away on a barrier- breaking trip, which is very demanding. But the trip can’t be a success because Jon neither has the courage nor the desire to carry through. He shows that many times in the story, and he shows too that he is pressed against his will. But we have to look at the title yellow, it tells us much about the story! Yellow means something like cowardly. Every time Jon hears yellow in his head, he feels like a scared person. So in fact he has a bit of self-knowledge, it is just hard to see. Breaking boundaries is something we all have to do, especially when we have bad luck in our lives. When we come out where we can’t swim and where other people can’t reach us, there we have to show strength and will! The things Jon does are big for him, but...

...Specialty Industries Specialty Industries spotlight ○ Bottled Water Industry January 2001 RAPID GROWTH AND CONSOLIDATION The bottled water industry has seen significant mergers and acquisition activity in the last four years. While industry revenues grew by more than 13% last year, consolidation of small and midsize bottled water companies continues to increase the margin pressures now felt by regional firms. The premium valuations currently being paid for bottled water companies present owners with a viable alternative to future earnings pressure from the industry’s larger players. Furthermore, access to a strategic partner’s capital and mature marketing and distribution channels is a way for bottlers and distributors to capitalize on their strong regional presence and take their company to the next level. Mirus’ research of recent disclosed M&A transactions shows that bottled water companies are valued at an average of 11x EBITDA with a corresponding price-to-sales ratio between 1.2x and 2.9x sales. It is important to note that firms with healthy EBITDA margins drove the most value from a price-to-sales standpoint. ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ INDUSTRY TRENDS The dynamic growth of the U.S. bottled water industry has been driven by a number of trends including favorable demographics and a societal increase in health consciousness. The matured tastes of older generations are seeking more natural, less caloric beverages. Additionally,...

...Today’s society often puts a strong pressure on the individual, which can result in a wrong self-perception. Especially the ones who don’t meet the expectations can feel cowardice, and it might lead them to a self-destructive behaviour. This is also the case in the short story “Yellow” by Peter Carty, where the proverb “Cowards may die many times before their death” encloses the theme accurately in the way that the protagonist John is on a self-destructive course. John has been sent to Egypt by his work to go scuba diving against his will, but since he is submissive he didn’t dare to say no. When he arrives, he immediately starts drinking his duty-free. He is afraid of the ocean, and isolates himself from the others when having spare time. The pressure from his work, girlfriend and desire to become braver leads to a feeling of low self-esteem. He is in a lose-lose situation, seeing that nothing at home can soothe his depressed mood, and his stay in Egypt only makes it worse. These internal and external conflicts reinforce his feeling of being yellow-bellied, which not only leads to John drowning his sorrows in liquor, but literally brings him to drown himself. The main character in the short story is the forty-year-old, second-string writer, Jon. The first characteristics is already sensed in the first few lines: “he shook hands with everyone, and handed out crumbled currency” (l.3) this quote shows that he has a hard time saying ‘no’ as he shakes hands with everyone...

Specialty Toys

...Case Study 1: Specialty Toys | Group 10 | Amy GarlitzAlison MalzahnRudy RodelasAngad SinghAbigail Webber | Question 1 The data of the sales of the Weather Teddy presented in the Specialty Toys case has a normal probability distribution. The company has a 95% probability of demand for the Weather Teddy being between 10,000 and 30,000 units. Therefore, 95% of the data is within two standard deviations of the mean. The standard deviation is 5,000, or the data deviates from the mean by 5,000 units. The graph below presents this probability distribution for the sales demand of the new product based on the sales forecast. Question 2 The managers of Specialty Toys had identified the suggested order quantities of 15,000, 18,000, 24,000 and 28,000 as noted on Chart A. The order quantities 10,000, 20,000 and 26,000 are included as further analysis for purposes of answering question 5. The out of stock probabilities for each possible order quantity are determined by converting the data to the standard normal random variable or z-score. The z-score is a function of the mean and standard deviation as noted in the formula z = (x-μ)/σ. The second column of Chart A calculates the numerator of the equation and the third column calculates the z-score. Once the z-scores have been calculated, the probabilities are determined by using the standard normal probability table. With an order quantity of 15,000 the z-value probability from the table is .1587 or rounded to .159. This...

Forensic Specialties

...Forensics Specialties While reading through the specialties section in chapter one of the textbook, one specialty that caught my attention was forensic anthropology, because I didn’t know before reading the section, how much work this aspect of the forensics team is responsible for. This specialty can be used to determine the amount of time skeletal remains have been exposed to the elements, and even what race the person may have been based on their bone structure; among many other variables. The other specialty that was interesting to me was engineering. It is amazing to me that forensic engineers are able to determine how an accident was caused, the speed of the vehicles that collided, and if there were issues with the vehicles that may have caused accidents. This aspect of forensics is responsible for determine who is at fault, or if anyone really was. After I complete my degree here at Ashford, my goal for a career is be to become a police officer. But if I were to work in forensics, I would prefer to work in the digital evidence, or psychiatry/behavioral science area. I would choose to work in the digital evidence area because it is related to detective work and the psychiatry behavioral science area because I have always been interested in psychology and am interested in finding out the inner workings of the criminals who commit murders. A few ways that my career choice of becoming a police officer would be involved in the forensics aspect of solving a homicide,......

Specialty Toys

...Specialty Toys Case Study 1. The mean is 20,000 units and there is a 95% probability that demand will be between 10, 000 and 30,000 units. This means there is a .025% chance that the demand will be outside of 10,000 and 30,000. Using the chart, we find that z=-1.96. Using the following calculation, we find: z= x- μ σ -1.96 = 10,000 – 20,000 σ σ=5102 Standard deviation σ = 5,102 μ = 20,000 mean 2. Stock outs were calculated by the four management numbers. Equation is: z = (x – μ)/ σ 15,000: Z = (15,000-20,000)/5102 z = -0.98 Then, reference the cumulative probabilities for standard deviation table in the beginning of the book to identify what -0.98 represents, which is .1635. Since stock outs are any quantity greater than what management suggested, they need to be subtracted from 1. 1 - .1635 = .8365 which = 83.65% Same logic/steps for the rest of the values: 18,000 24,000 28,000 Z = (18,000-20,000)/5102 z=(24,000-20,000)/5102 z=(28,000-20,000)/5102 z = -.39 z=.78 z= 1.57 1 - .3483 = .6517 1 - .7823 = .2177 1 –.9418 = .0582 which = 65.17% which = 21.77% which = 5.82% 3. Projected Profit for management under three scenarios which are 10,000 20,000 and 30,000 units Order | 10,000 units | 20,000 units | 30,000 units | 15000 | 8*10000-11*5000 =$25000 | 8*15000=$120000 | 8*15000 = $120000 | 18000 | 8*10000-11*8000= $-8000 | 8*18000 = $144000 | 8*18000 = $144000 | 24000 | 8*10000-11*14000= -74000......

...My main topic in this essay will be analyzing Jon’s behavior and personality. I will also give my opinion of the title of the novel”Yellow”. Jon, the main character in this novel is a forty year old man with an overweight problem and a depressive personality, and I quickly get a clear impression of Jon being a lazy, disheartened and negative person. It is like he sees himself as a bit of a failure and somehow seems to have given up on life. Through the novel he uses the word”Fuck” an awful lot of times and this gives him a very negative and irritated attitude. I think he got this attitude because he has been forced by the editor of the magazine that he is working for, to go on this learn-to-scuba-dive trip in Egypt. I think it is bizarre that he doesn’t protest to his superior. Jon is not the ideal person to go scuba-diving, though he is in god condition he is obese and hates being physical active. He fancy looking at the television at the hotel room and drinking cheap liquor. I think Jon has no confidence at all, it is like he is little puppet. But through the novel we see no personal development. He gets more and more depressed. “Then he locked the door of his room against them, and tucked into his duty-free” it is like Jon tries to get rid of his problems by buying his duty-free alcohol and lock the door. By locking the door, Jon is not a part of the world outside. He sits in his room by himself a drinking his problems and sorrows away. This is how he seeks comfort...

Yellow

...Yellow by Peter Carty English essay by Caroline Frederiksen In this essay, I will demonstrate how the British journalist Jon, finds his salvation during a scuba-diving trip forced upon him by his executives. I will also analyze why Jon associates himself with the colour ‘yellow’, and what the meaning of the colour yellow is, and how his relationship to it changes throughout the story. The main character in the short story “Yellow” is a British journalist named Jon, who is visiting Egypt on a learn-to-scuba-dive trip and report back to magazine he works for. The trip holds no personal appeal for Jon, as he neither enjoys scuba diving or any other type of sports. “Jon hated anything active or sporty, yet here he was” (page 3, line 53) Jon was selected for the trip, as none of the other writers in the firm volunteered for the job. Jon was partly chosen because of his low status in the firm, but he also feels like a pushover, that will do what ever you tell them to do. Some may even call him a coward. He hides away from his problems, drowning his sorrows in duty-free alcohol and locks himself away in his hotel room. With an inner voice that is rapidly becoming more prominent, chanting that Jon is yellow, “You’re yellow, yellow, yellow, yellow!” (Page 3, line 61), Jon starts losing what little self esteem he once had. He no longer is in a loving relationship, and is finding harder and harder to keep up a conversation with his girl friend, his writing has little to......
