...First week in my OJT May 25 Friday Our on-the job training in Tempura Japanese Restaurant took-off with a brief orientation with the store manager. First, the trainees were introduced to the whole staff, followed by a tour inside the store premises-from the dining area, then to the bar and finally in the kitchen. During this tour, the manager gave us a few ideas on how it works and we have our first glimpse on how the restaurant operates. After that activity, he/she gave us our first on-site post: the entrance. We’re instructed to stay there and open the door for the guests. He/She also reminded us that it’s a must to greet the incoming guests with “Yokoso , Ma’am/ Sir” while outgoing customers must hear the words “Doumo arigatou gozaimasu”. May 26 Saturday On our second day on Tempura, the staff taught us the standard position for serving. At the end of this activity, we were expected to learn the basic steps on how to serve the guests efficiently, have an adequate proficiency about the menu including the right pronunciation for each dish. A staff also made a demonstration on table-setting. In this task, the demonstrator specifically pointed-out that the table was set in a specific manner that follows a strict standard. After the activity, we were instructed to go back to our first designated post and usher the guests. May 27 Sunday After two days of warming-up on our new environment, the trainees were able to catch up on the life in Tempura. Day 3 is an exciting day......

...section has really been helpful as well. It shows you how to make use of different skills of individual writing, reflective reports and group work. There are various examples given in which PPD1 could be improved, so it could be implemented in the next academic year. One suggestion is 1. A more broad idea of feedback on what the lecturer is looking for in the work assigned. a. This will enable students to know exactly what they are going to write or give them idea of how the lecturer wants the assignment to be handled. 2. Exam time-tables to be given way ahead of time b. This will also enable students to revise more thoroughly in preparation for the exam. Conclusion I have learnt a lot from writing up this portfolio. From looking at the different presentations given, I was able to point out different techniques that I would be able to implement into either my work or everyday life. Bibliography * Belbin’s Theory * Gustafson and Kleiner (1994) * Tips for Effective Presentations, Using Four Important Design Concepts, Lois Putnam and Phredd Groves (2002) * The Right Decisions, Isaac Newton (2005)...

...Development Learning Center Educational Institutions * ------------------------------------------------- West Manila Christian School Educational Institutions Summary of ojt experience Finally my 200 hours of OJT is finally done. For a month I learned a lot of things “One of the most important things I’ve learned is that talent alone is not enough. It is important, but it is no guarantee of success. One must also be hardworking and should practice self-discipline. Sacrifice is important, too. “I learned through experience how to interact and communicate with people. You should Ask your boss if they have some work for you to do. You never know; they might hire you after the internship or in the future. Finally my 200 hours of OJT is finally done. For a month I learned a lot of things. I think studying is harder than working, though; the real world is easier than college  Compiling datas and save them. This whole OJT experience was a combination of fun, new learnings and new discoveries. In sum, the whole OJT experience wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. In fact, the 200 hours was a breeze except for those days when I had a hard time waking up, when traffic was really bad and when I was feeling lazy and out of it. Going to work and seeing some friendly faces helped a great deal. Having to do OJT with friends made it a whole lot easier for me.  My success couldn’t turn into reality without this following person who with all their help to me in different......

...very biased. I believed that writers had to follow a certain format and stick to the textbook rules in order to succeed as a creative writer. This notion of mine was completely shattered, and for the good, once I was introduced to the fact that a creative writer is in essence not bound by any rules. Don’t get me wrong, there are certain rules, but these rules are nowhere nearly as strict as the rules I experienced during my stint with formal literary writing. More than the rules, I uncovered several tools that would aid my writing process in the future. Experimenting with the five elements of creative writing - Image, Voice, Character, Setting and Story provided me with a firm fundamental understanding as to how I should begin crafting my portfolio. It was very interesting to discover how each of these elements worked independently as well as coherently within each of the four genres to provide a well rounded work of literature. Among the four genres, I was most comfortable with writing the Drama. Integrating all the necessary elements of creative writing into the drama came naturally to me as I could visualize the drama actually taking place on stage. The fact that all of my characters’ thoughts had to be externalized as opposed to fiction where I could go into my characters’ thoughts and not worry about the reader’s reaction proved to be an exciting challenge. Observing Love is Bl(ow)ind one can notice the use of this technique in the opening scene where Raf is in the bathroom......

Ojt Experience

...On-the-job training (OJT) is a form of training taking place in a normal working situation. OJT will generally help the students to increase their productivity and skills. It also help the students to become a young professional. It also helps the students to acquire relevant knowledge and skills by performing in actual work setting. Last April, i started my ojt at bsp. the required number of hours for us is 300 hrs. i was assigned at the eflc under liss with the supervision of ms catherine platon. eflc is the focal point of contact of the public of information concerning economic and financial matters. Instead of gathering various information from different departments/locations within the BSP, researchers can just visit the EFLC for their information requirements. i have observed their daily activities that they must comply. at the first week of my ojt, i was so nervous because they are professional people. i have to act professional to have a good impression o them. but at time goes by, i find myself working with them harmoniously. the staff are very approachable and nice. they are not really the serious type all the time. sometimes, you can joke and chitchat with them. they always bring food and share it with their co-employess and even to me. as a trainee, i have my tasks to do given by my supervisor. on the 1st day of my ojt, she told me that im going to have a prjoect and it will be passed at the end of my ojt. she told me to do a manual about the FAQs at......

How large (if any) were the gains from diversification? Did you diversify? Why or why not? Our strategy was to diversify, but we didn’t manage to, as the price of the assets was extremely high. 6) Calculate the CAPM beta of each asset. Were the asset expected returns proportional to their beta? The market expected return would be the average return of all the traded assets in market. According to CAPM, E(Red) = R(risk free) + B(Red)*(Risk Premium) We have risk free = 0, B(red) = E(Red)/E(M) GAME 1 |   |   | Market expected return | Beta Red | Beta BLUE | -0.155246723 | -2.795595415 | 4.795595415 | GAME 2 |   |   | Market expected return | Beta Red | Beta BLUE | -0.137742471 | 3.508929539 | -1.508929539 | 7) Using Solver, calculate the tangency portfolio. ...I started my On-the-Job-Training at EcoWaste Coalition last April 19, 2010. Actually, it was my first time to go there not knowing that after having my orientation about the things that they do in their office, I can already start working. At first, I was really nervous because I don’t have any working experience and also, it’s a new environment for me because I have to deal with people who are a lot older than I am. I was really shy for the first few days of my OJT because I was still observing the people around me and I became very conscious especially on how I act and behave in front of them. But after a few days of being shy and aloof, I was already starting to share my ideas about things and I was already comfortable and confident whenever I’m with them. During the OJT, I was able to join 6 of their events. The first event was a press conference held at Max’s Restaurant in Quezon City Circle. It was about who among the presidentiables has a great concern to our environment. I this presscon, I was assigned to prepare media kits and to take pictures while the conference was going on. The second event was about having a bill in the senate about our environment. There were discussions made by different speakers and some journalists and lawyers were present during this event. I was seated near the entrance gate to accommodate the guests in terms of letting them sign the attendance sheet, make their name plates, give them media kits, and assist them to their respective seats....

...Luke Martino Writing 102 12/9/15 Writing 102 Portfolio Throughout this semester of Writing 102, I have been assigned to write four essays that have stressed the course competencies of subject matter knowledge, writing process knowledge, rhetorical knowledge, genre knowledge, discourse community knowledge, and meta-cognition. Through the process of drafting, editing, and revising three out of the four papers, I think I have been effectively able to absorb three of those course competencies; subject matter knowledge, rhetorical knowledge, and writing process knowledge. The first paper I was assigned to write for Writing 102 was a literacy narrative. For this paper, I was told to write about a past experience that helped influence my current writing and reading qualities. The core competencies that were involved in this essay were writing process knowledge and subject matter knowledge. I used writing process knowledge when I was told to generate ideas for my essay. I began by thinking of five possible ideas and from there I created a brainstorming web out of the two topics I thought would be the most interesting. Shortly after starting, I realized I could only build an effective brainstorming web from one idea. I decided to use the first time I forgot my lines in a play as my main idea for the essay. After I completed the brainstorming web and finished taking notes on what I remembered from the incident I started to follow the writing process that consisted of......
