Executive Summary My goal was to gather finance information and establish relationships between eight different variables. I incorporated the following variables into a small survey: Age, Income, Investment, Number of Children, Number of Years of college, Additional Investment for the Current Year and Home Value. The reason for studying this data is because I am a finance major and going to be working towards becoming a financial advisor.
I created a survey that answered the questions for the criteria listed above. I asked friends and family through email and facebook, and told them the reason for my asking. Everyone was willing to participate, as I kept their personal information confidential. I took the survey results and computed with 49 surveys. After analyzing the data I noticed that there were many relationships amongst the variables. Based on the research I concluded that the higher the age the more that they are willing to invest for the current year. There was also a strong relationship between age and income. The older the person, the more money they made. The dependent variable was age. Older people make more money, are more familiar with investments, and are more willing to make larger investments currently. Also, age related to home value in that an increase in age was related to an increase in home value.

... GPA vs. Music OIS 2340 Section 1 Aubrey Bullough Alyssa Boyd Helena Paulos Moraya Dodson Sam Webster Executive Summary We are a radio station and we were interested in finding a new target group for our upcoming sister station and who better than to target the large student population? Our goal was to find out if listening to classical music while studying is beneficial to students’ GPA’s.  We assumed that students who listened to classical music while studying have higher GPAs (3.1 or above) in comparison to students who listen to other genres while studying. A sample of 61 college students was taken and of those 16 reported that they listen to classical music while studying and obtain a GPA of 3.1 or above. We used proportional hypothesis testing to keep our data simple and precise. Our hypothesis was that 50% of students with GPAs 3.1 or above listened to classical music while studying. After extensive research and advanced calculations we have decided to reject this hypothesis.            To gather our data we created a digital survey on Survey Monkey and had each member of our group post the survey link as their Facebook status. To our advantage, Facebook worked extremely quickly. Our questions in our survey consisted of: (a) “Do you listen to music while you study?” (b) “What genre do preferred to listen to while they study?” And (c) “What is your current GPA?” We received roughly 100 responses and of those 100, 61 students earned a GPA of 3.1 or above and listen......

...Capstone Most media in today’s society show acts of sexuality that is common and it is expected. Depending on what type of media it is. Some show girls that are flirtatious at a young age and it shows some that may be having sex at a young age as well. A lot of girls in today’s time think that its ok to be that way to try to get older guys attention with the way they dress or how much makeup that they may wear. Media portray some young men that may be pressuring a girl to have sex or it may portray them as sexual predators. The media has also represented gays and lesbians more so than they would years ago. And that is probably because it is accepted more not than it used to be. I think this is a good thing because people who are gay or lesbian don’t have to be ashamed of how they are especially if they are younger. I think some negative effects of the media’s portrayal of sexuality is the message that it’s sending to the younger generation and our future generation. That it’s ok to have sex young, it’s like the media is putting peer pressure on the younger kids along with what they deal with every day in school or at home. It is a greater risk for kids to start having babies early or be at risk of STD’s. They make it seem like sex is everything and being a virgin is like a disease that’s not a good view to have. I can say that the positive side is people meaning gays and lesbian do not have to hide who they are. They may not be accepted everywhere, but they can be......

When? By Whom? How? ) Now that we have identified the problems and have the solutions, there are actions that need to be done. We need to hire the in-house secret shoppers. Because there are so many Maverik convenience stores in the Salt Lake Valley, we need to employ at least two secret shoppers for each city. Because it contains six cities (Salt Lake City, Murray, Sandy, South Jordan, West Jordan and West Valley), we will need at least 12 secret shoppers in total. Take Salt Lake City for example, we can hire two secret shoppers and each one of them go to two sides of the city: one goes to southern and western, another goes to northern and eastern. We need to assign each secret shopper to go to at least five stores every day. Their duties included talking to the store managers, cashiers, greeters and even some of the customers for getting the information of overall service quality. They also need to take times to observe how the store employees interact with the customers and check the cleanliness of the whole store environment. The secret shoppers......
