“Usability is the ease of use and learnability of a human-made object. The object of use can be a software application, website, book, tool, machine, process, or anything a human interacts with.” (Definitions for Usability, n.d) In order for a website to be successful the navigation is a key element. If a user cannot find their way around a site easily, they will find one that they can. Keeping things consistent is very important. Site navigation needs to appear in the same location on every page of a site. Using the same style, type and colors makes it comfortable for a user to browse, it is also important to make text easy to read, never use distracting flashing or animations. Users want to know where they are at all times when browsing, they also want to where they can go, users cannot go somewhere if they do not know how to get there, and they also want to know where they have been. In my own usage of websites the most important thing is color. I hate when things are too
“much.” By that I mean way to many colors and designs it is distracting and so hard to follow, I loose interest real fast and move on. A color scheme should contain 2 or 3 primary colors that blend well and create a proper mood or tone. (Does Your Website Have What It Takes? , 2012) One thing that I have noticed with all of the information out there is that mobile sites are the worst. Since I spend most of my time on my phone I like the sites that are easy to navigate via my smart phone. It seems to be getting better, but I like when mobile sites are equivalent to the web sites I visit on my computer. I still do not order things or do much of anything that I fell
I can “screw” up on my phone, simply because the mobile site is not as easy to use as the computer is. The bottom line is that sites should have a lasting impression on consumers, and make them want to revisit.

Two (2) separate search tools were used and this paper attempts to explain why there are differences in search results obtained from each search tool and evaluate the quality of their search results.   Module 2 – Written Assignment 2 Searching for information via the Internet will always produce invariable results. This notion can be exaggerated depending upon the tools one uses to query for information. That is not to say that the Internet cannot be used as a valuable research tool. On the contrary, studies have been conducted to support the use of Internet-based research in many fields, including the medical field (Ahern, 2005). While the Internet search engine can be a powerful tool for research, it should be noted that not all search engine tools are created equal. Different Internet search engines will in fact return different results. Therefore, great care must be taken to ensure that the appropriate search engine is chosen for the job. Some of the different types of search engines include: Crawlers, Directories, Meta, Hybrid and Specialty. Search query options enable users to refine their searches in an attempt to find more relevant information. These particular options vary according to the search......

Usability Assignment on Web Accessibility

...Usability Assignment on Web Accessibility Wendell Robinson Capella University Web Accessibility Initiative's Accessible Rich Internet Applications (WAI-ARIA) need to be the concern of all web developer. Many people like myself can’t imagine their life without the internet it is where we get our world and local news, email, entertainment, etc. If a developer makes his website to be more accessible he ensure that people with disabilities can access his website just everyone else. The people who are visually impaired could access their content with the help of a “screen reader”. Screen reader applications read the printed text out loud, which helps blind people use computers and receive access to a text content of any kind. The blind can just open up a browser and listen to a screen-reader The physically impaired people can get the access to online content with the help of their computer using technologies that were designed to adapt the computer interface to their disabilities. People who are hard of hearing have always had the opportunity to read online content, however when it comes to video materials, they can read typed versions of important speeches or watch multimedia content with subtitles. One reason accessibility is important is that it can increase your audience. Without accessibility there is bound to be people in your audience who are not able to see, hear or simply pick up the mouse to navigate your website. This could mean loss of profit......

...Running Head: WRITTEN ASSIGNMENT Writing Assignment/ Unit#4 Shannon Brown Kaplan University PA 328 Professor Mighdoll April 16, 2013 The United States of America has an extensive history when dealing with the issues of copyright and what regulations or laws should protect the author. America has been deliberating the issue as early as 1787 when James Madison requested that a provision be added to the constitution that would provide protection to literary authors for a determined time (U.S. Copyright Office). Many individuals and organizations have made a mark in the history of copyright laws and regulations but research proves that the Berne Convention is responsible for setting a standard for international copyright laws. The Berne Convention enjoyed much success by signing over a 160 participating member nations. The United States became a member of this international community in 1989 (U.S. Copyright Office). The Berne Convention is an international agreement intended to protect its member’s against copyright infringement and also to allow protections for as long as 70 years after the death of the author, provided the works have been viewed (U.S. Copyright Office). The Berne Convention is a treaty whose members believe that intellectual property is important and should be held to some degree of copyright protection (eBook Chp.16 2012). ...Written Assignment 6: Workshop Training Proposal “Behold leaf cutter ants. At the command of their queen, the ants march in lockstep, cut leaves from rainforest trees, and, in a perfectly ordered line, carry the right number of tasty leaves in their mandibles back to the colony and their discerning queen” (Wetfeet, 2012). That is how Wetfeet, a career advice website, describes the role of a Supply Chain Account Manager. Supply Chain Account Managers keep the flow of goods streamlined from the beginning to the end just like how ants form a perfect formation to carry food from a source back to their nesting. The Supply Chain Account Manager position has two main functions: Sales and management. Supply Chain Account Managers proactively reaches out to businesses to help identify any gaps that may exist between the process of transporting goods from manufactures to consumers. After identifying the gaps, Account Managers then present solutions that streamlines the steps involving the movement of goods to create efficiency and improve company’s bottomline. Once the proposed solutions are implemented, the Account Manager then follows up with key stakeholders within the company to further build relationships to keep maintaining the efficiency of the company’s overall supply chain. As a veteran Supply Chain Account Manager, I am proposing a training workshop to better prepare new Account Managers to experience early success in their roles. The workshop will shorten......

Assignment#03 Usability Evaluation

...15 Assignment 3: Usability Evaluation 15 Assignment 3: Usability Evaluation Questionnaire is one of the most popular techniques for gathering data, where questions in a questionnaire are designed to be answered asynchronously, i.e. without the presence of the investigator. A goal must be set, before developing the questionnaire, as developer would like to have relevant reasons before starting working on something. Targeting the participants is another important element of collecting data through online questionnaire. In many ways questionnaire is similar to interviews as questions could be open or closed. Since interviewer is not present or in a word nobody is available to interpret the questions for the participant, making the questions clear and data collection efficient -- questions need to be clearly worded. Skilled people are needed to design a questionnaire especially to gather valid and reliable data. Easy and difficult aspects of creating and conducting an online questionnaire: First, I would explain the easy aspects of creating and conducting an online questionnaire. Online questionnaire is very effective when targeting a large number of people in terms of gathering valuable information. There are two ways of doing online questionnaire: email questionnaire and web based questionnaire. Email questionnaire is not that effective and hard to reach a maximum number of participants. On the other hand web-based questionnaire can reach any region in the world...

...Michael Scorza Student ID# 0584210 2015SEP PHI-286-OL008 Written Assignment 1; 1of2 The “nature of the good life” from a philosophical point of view is not as simple as the typical picture that may pop into one’s head of lying on a beach in a tropical paradise sipping frozen daiquiris. Depending on which type of ethical model you use will change the picture. For Thucydides his view point seems to be that “Might is Right” versus Plato’s “Might for Right” as well as a search for what is right. Another way to differentiate the two would be to say one is for what I have the right to do and that makes it right verses what is the right thing to do and what makes it right. To determine whether the claims that Thucydides is making are empirical or normative we must first define those terms and then place them in the context of his story. By definition, normative ethics is all based on value judgments. It is all about what is right and what should one do about it. From my understanding, normative ethics is more based on emotion as opposed to empirical. Empirical ethics is defined as statements that can be proved or shown through observation. One plus one equals two. When it comes to Thucydides’ story of the Athenians and Melians, I believe it is a story of empirical ethics. Thucydides describes for us the setting of this tale with some back story. It is a time of war during which the Athenians made a journey to the island of Melos. The Athenians sent emissaries to the......

...Luis Antezana Written Assignment April 23rd, 2012 Word Count: 1222 What significance does the theme of innocence versus guilty play in the novel, The Assualt, by Harry Mulisch? The novel, The Assault, is told against the backdrop of shifting Dutch post-war society, centered around significant points in that history. Mulisch paints a canvas of the difficulties of Dutch society in coming to terms with the events of the war. Mulisch faces significant questions of guilt and innocence when writing the novel thus leading to the hand of fate lurking strongly in the novel. The Assault becomes a morality play with much difficulty in determining and judging what right and wrong is, and guilty from innocence becomes a central theme throughout the novel in the lives of Anton Steenwijk, Fake Ploeg’s son, Cor Take and Karin Korteweg and Mr. Korteweg. Anton Steenwijk is the central protagonist in the novel and has been plagued with the murdering of his family at a very young age. Anton struggles to understand and comprehend the events that happened that very night which ultimately leads to his apathy for the subject. Anton’s apathy and attempts of forgetfulness toward the killings makes him guilty in the novel; however, the fact that Anton’s only mechanism for coping with the tragedy is detachment and forgetting gives him the characteristic of innocence thus raising important questions of guilt and innocence in his character. Anton’s apathetic characteristic can be seen......
