How to Pick Up a Girl What’s on your mind? In a recent study, it has been stated that there seems to be three things a man has constant thoughts about. Coming in third is sleep, a close second is food, and that’s right, what men think about most on a day to day basis is women. Now, seeing how important the opposite sex is to men, I am going to break down the confusing opposite gender formerly known as females. First, there is the debate on whether nice guys truly do finish last. Along with that, there is the much talked about differences between blondes and brunettes. And lastly, I will share some tips on how to get a woman interested in you. Now, do nice guys truly finish last? I have heard both sides to this story. I would be lying if I said that I am not of the fence about this subject. Just like men, women love a challenge. So it isn’t whether nice guys finish last or not, but rather I think that women get bored. If you are the type to constantly be nice or a pushover, without creating any true excitement (which usually will put a huge dent in your wallet) sometimes being a little edgy or unpredictable will be beneficial to you. By no means am I saying to be a jerk or scumbag, because then you will get the easily get the ax. There is also a fine line between being a nice guy and automatically getting yourself “friend-zoned.” Once you get friend-zoned, there is no going back. This might be one of the worst things a guy can hear from the girl of their wanting. ………………. Blondes and brunettes. The debate has been going on for centuries and I’m sure it will go on for centuries to come. From my experience, I think it is safe to say that for the most part I agree with most of the stereotypes that with each side. By association, blondes are more of a free-spirited people, and quite outgoing people. But at the same time, most…...

How the Garcia Girls Lost Their Accents

...One of the main sources of tension in How the Garcia Girls Lost their Accents, written by Julia Alvarez, are the sisters search for a personal identity among contrasting cultures. Many of the characters felt pressure from two sources, the patriarchal culture that promotes traditional gender roles and society of nineteen-sixties and seventies America. Dominican tradition heavily enforces the patriarchal family and leaves little room for female empowerment or individuality, whereas in the United States, the sixties and seventies were times of increasingly liberal views and a rise in feminist ideals. This conflict shaped the identities of the characters in Alvarez’s novel and often tore the characters apart for one another. Alvarez gives many examples throughout the novel that depict the female characters as trying to both challenge and conform to the tradition gender roles expected of them by their traditional Dominican heritage. Sofia (Fifi), the youngest of the sister challenged and conformed at times many of the traditional general roles expected of her by her patriarchal culture. It can be argued that Fifi assimilated to the American society’s gender roles quicker and easier than her sisters because she was the youngest when they moved to America she only really experienced her traditional Hispanic culture when going back to spend summers with her extended family. During one of Sofia’s extended stays in the Dominican Republic she did conform to the gender roles that......

What If I Woke Up as a Girl

...2013 This would have never crossed my mind; but if one day I woke up and all the sudden I am a girl, I would freak the crap out! For starters, I would think that I am still sleeping and it’s just a dream. However, after a few minutes I would realize that it’s not a dream and that I became a girl overnight. After getting over the fact that I am now a girl, I would get up and check myself out to “see what I’m working with”. Then I would mentally prepare myself to getting hit on by every guy, because mentally I’m still a guy but physically I’m a women. A couple benefits of being a girl however are ladies first, emotional blackmail, and makeup and dressing. Ladies first, every one of us must have heard of this phrase -” ladies first”. Being a girl or a woman we often enjoy this particularly special right when standing in a queue or waiting in a crowded train or bus for a vacant seat. This is a fully known point that the vacant seat must be given to a lady first If there is any. And If unfortunately any idiot (obviously a man) doesn’t follow the acclaimed rule then he must get ready to be embarrassed by the co-travelers. Emotional blackmail, this is again something can only be done If you are a girl. Being in a relationship sometimes there are few demands that we want to be fulfilled by our partners at any cost, whether they want to or not. Trust me this emotional blackmailing is the strongest weapon of girls to get that demand fulfilled. We can cry and can give some......

How to Build Up Self-Confidence

...Then, many people would ask, how to build up self-confidence exactly? I should tell those people for certain that there is no absolute or exact solution to the problem of lacking self-confidence. For people who are unconfident have different reasons to feel inferior. Therefore the first thing is to figure out who you are and why you are not confident about yourself. For those who are born pessimistic, they should try to look at the good side and always give themselves optimistic hints like seeing the glass half full instead of half empty. For those who are experiencing defeat for the moment, it’s quite normal to doubt themselves and ask the question “Do I make the right choice at the beginning?” But the truth is, those obstacles are what you must learn to deal with on your road to success. So for now all you need is to get some rest and calm down to analyze how come the failure. With some adjustment, you’ll find your confidence and passion in your work soon. By saying rest, I mean traveling, reading a wonderful book, anything that suits you best. I used to be very unconfident. Throwing my mind back to my middle school time, I once was too afraid or say, too unconfident to stand in front of the class to answer a question raised by my social science teacher. I did the most shameful thing in my life—I cried. That thing I will never forget. Later, with the help of my head teacher, Mrs. Wang and through my own efforts, I overcame the fear and built up my self-confidence. I did......

How to Set Up a Lan

...How to set up a LAN How to set up a LAN 1. Assess your needs in a network. The devices you use to set your network up will determine your network's capabilities. You should address your needs in terms of cost, security, connection speed, expandability (adding more computers or devices later) and distance between computers. In general, you will need to keep all the computers in the network within 100 yards (91 m) of each other. 2. Ensure that your computers have wireless networking cards installed. In order to communicate wirelessly with other computers in the network, each computer must have a wireless networking card. If your computers are only a few years old, you are almost guaranteed to already have one built-in, as this is a standard feature on all computers being produced today. If you have an older computer, you may need to purchase and install a networking card. 3. Set up an Internet connection. While L.A.N.s can be set up simply to share files between computers without Internet connectivity, there is little benefit to doing so considering the cost of wiring the entire network. To share an Internet connection between computers, you will first need a broadband Internet connection (such as cable or DSL) set up for your primary computer. Contact a local Internet service provider (ISP) to establish a connection if you don't already have one. 4. Purchase a wireless router. You will need to broadcast your Internet connection wirelessly, and for this, you......

How to Pick the Wrong Significant Other

...WR121 Process Analysis Essay How to Pick the Wrong Significant Other There are very few things I am good at that I can eloquently put into words and give instructions for them. One thing I do really well; constantly dating the wrong person. Friends might think that after making the same mistakes over and over again, that I would have learned by now. Those friends are wrong. At least, they were. Finally admitting to myself what mistakes I’ve been making, and talking to my friends about it, I have learned to take more time in getting to know someone. It always starts the same way: a cute face. A physical attraction. Just go with it. I wait until the guy talks to me because I’m just a little too shy and awkward. When they do, I need to get a drink because it loosens me up and makes me less nervous. Maybe my friends are there, that always helps. So, we’re talking and the hormones are flying. Then there’s a light brushing of hands. Electric. Sparks are flying. Also, at this point, the drinks are flowing. Nothing really deep or important usually comes from these conversations. It’s basically just like two teenagers trying not to paw at each other in public. We arrange to hang out again. Great! First dates are awkward but I get that excited feeling in my stomach when I’m pulling up to meet them. Once, I was extra nervous as I wasn’t quite sure I’d recognize the person that I’d met at a bar and talked to for about five minutes before setting up a date. Fortunately, he......

How to Pick Up a Girl

...You can pick up women in all types of scenarios in bars, clubs, during the day, online, and in any social event. Even with all these ways there is still quite a few methods that hold true when trying to pick up girls in any situation. This report will go through the basics of these methods so you will know just how to pick up ladies! Opening You can either open a lady directly or indirectly, each have their own unique purposes. Direct is going up to a lady and directly telling her that you are interested. E.g, Hello I just had to come meet you because you're stunning. When being direct you are stating that you are interested in her and if she accepts this and starts talking to you, you are well in. Indirect is when you ask a lady a question. For example, Who do you think lies more men or girls? Then let her know why you are asking her this null my friend thinks guys, but I'm 100% sure its girls'. This opening will start up more conversations due to the fact you are not hitting on her, thus your not a threat. Having said that null could end up in the friend zone I prefer direct in most cases as it is a lot more efficient, as you find out the truth about where the interaction is going a lot faster. Make yourself stand out from the crowd Since she is now opened up, we need to prove we are not like the regular men who open her, with all the same boring questions e.g., what do you do? Null.
