Problem Framing – The MGA team is currently suffering from organizational mismanagement and numerous internal conflicts which have prohibited the group from making meaningful strides towards achieving its goal of submitting a viable proposal to the upcoming business plan competition. In order to address these shortcomings, the following proposals seek to address the structural problems within the group and attempt to get it back on track to achieve the shared goal the group members share.
Managing Personal/Team Conflicts
Given the differing educational and professional backgrounds of the team members, certain personality conflicts have arisen which are hurting team unity and practical discourse in the decision-making process.
• Team members need to spend some time discussing each team member’s background and experience. From this, the team can use similarities between different team members to create a sort of bonding between the team.
• Disagreement between members needs to be aired in the open and team members must work out differences.
• What does success look like to each team member in terms of the group and for themselves? Establish what each member wants to get out of the project and what they feel they can be contribute.
Identify and Commit to Team Norms
Committing to developing and maintaining team norms will be essential to providing structure to meetings and ensuring that the group’s decisions are made with the best information available rather than allowing dominant personalities or separate agendas to determine their action. Norms will assist in creating a process where all members have the opportunity and comfort sharing perspectives and challenging the ideas of others. This will increase the effectiveness of their partnership and maximize the diversity of knowledge.
• All members agree to attend meetings, on time, bringing their ideas…...

So much of the work goes into actually buying a home- from searching to find the perfect house, putting in offer, closing costs, a date to move in etc. that a lot of the thought as to what is going to be needed once a person is actually in their home is often times forgotten. Currently, within the market there is no offering to first time homebuyers to help better prepare them for moving into their home on some of the things that come up unforeseen. Week 6 Learning Team Assignment

...Week Six Learning Team Paper FIN/571 Foundations of Corporate Finance August 4, 2014 Week Six Learning Team Paper Peggy Parks worked as a building code auditor, saving money into her 401 (k) for retirement. But like every American citizen, her 401 (k) suffered a drastic reduction due to the economic downturn in 2007. Worried about her retirement, Peggy decided to invest in an alpaca business, due to a high return rate, rather than depend only on the financial market. She felt she had more control with a tangible asset, such as alpacas. Alpacas are well loved and can be kept as a pet or for breeding. They have the look of a llama because of their fleece. Many people use the fleece for clothing, such as sweaters and ponchos. It is light in weight, but warm. Alpacas have a demand all over the world, tax savings for those breeding, a deferral on capital gains until the alpaca is sold, tax write off for maintenance and feeding, and they are insurable. According to the video, her investment decision was based on research that proved to be profitable. She obtained a return of $15,000 in the first year for her initial $56,000 investment. Although Peggy had a return of 27% on her initial investment on the alpaca ranch, she could take advantage of capital strategies to maximize earnings. At first, Peggy could invest part if not all, of her remaining 401(k) balance on the ranch, which could be used to buy more alpacas and breed them. It is more advantage to her to invest on a......

Week 3 Team a Assignment

...Week 3 Team A assignment How are the hospital’s revenues and expenses grouped for planning and control? The way of which a hospital’s revenues and expenses are grouped varies from hospital to hospital. The revenues and expenses are grouped will also vary depending upon the type of hospital, may it be for-profit or non-profit hospital. How the patient care is delivered in the hospital affects the flow of revenues and expenses. The different services offered to the patients, the number of patients and their insurance services, the types of services a hospital offers, and the frequency of use of different services are just a few factors that affect the hospital revenues and expenses. Most hospital revenue comes from billing for patient care services. In most cases, this means billing to private insurance companies as well as federal Medicare and state Medical programs. Hospitals maintain contracts with a broad selection of private health plans, with agreed schedules of reimbursement for basically every type of medical services. Also, supplies make up about 15 percent of the average community hospital's expenses. Of course, these costs are offset through billing to patients for supplies used in the course of their treatment. Capital expenditures can be a huge part of a hospital's expenses. However, the amount and percentage of the budget can vary dramatically by hospital. For example, when a hospital undergoing a major expansion or construction......

Accounting Team Assignment Week 3

...Team Reflection Paper Team B ACC/290 12/18/2012 Martha Muhammad Team B Reflection Paper Accrual Basis versus Cash Basis A business can choose between two different accounting methods. Accrual basis and cash basis are two different methods that businesses can use to record the financial transactions. Under accrual basis, a business records revenue, whenever the money is earned instead of waiting to actually receive cash payments. The accrual basis accounting allows businesses to match revenues to the expenses incurred in earning them, providing the company with helpful information for financial reports. Under cash basis accounting, businesses wait to receive the money before recording it as revenue. The cash basis method is simple quick and easy, but if the business makes sales or purchases on credit, the cash basis method does not reflect the results of Operations. A trial balance is a list of all the balances of ledger accounts which is constructed after the preparation of adjusting entries in a business. An adjusted trial balance includes balances of revenues and expenses along with assets, liabilities, and equities. ...are several issues that progressively plague non-profit organizations that can lead to financial abuse and fraud. If this misconducts goes unaddressed, the image of Covenant House can undergo public erosion leading to loss of confidence which can put the funding capabilities of potential donors, grantors and sponsors in doubt. To begin with, one of the ethical issues that can be expected on the marketing plan, is the case of inflated allowances and salaries of the marketing team. If the marketing team members earn exorbitant salaries and allowances in popularizing the organization, ethical concerns might arise. This is because, there are chances that the efforts of the organization in assisting the homeless youths will be underfunded. The organization cannot afford to operate with maximum expenditures since its sources of revenue are limited. The large travel budgets across the United States granted to marketing team members can raise ethical concerns. This is common when such generous compensation of the team members results to failure in meeting the social needs of the organization. Secondly, accountability is an ethical issue in marketing the organization. Covenant House just like any other non-profit organization enjoys several tax incentives. In addition to that, there is little oversight on how the organization spends the funds it receives. As a result, the products and services that the organization offers to the community may not be funded appropriately. Linda......

...2012 Tanisha D. Jackson Web Development and the Use of Javascript Creating a Website and presenting it online to users across the world has become a regular occurrence over the past few decades. Web pages belong to companies with services to sell, and others, to individuals with information to share. The basic Web site is built with HTML, and then creatively enhanced with CSS. To create a visually expressive Web site that can attract thousands of visitors each day you need to use more than HTML and decide what the site contains. There are different languages that can be used to add a sense of style to your site, some of the possible devices are JavaScript, Java, DOM, and AJAX. In the following paper our team will discuss a few examples of how each can be used in Web development. Comparison of Java and JavaScript Java and JavaScript are both object-oriented languages (Burns, 2012). Knowing how to use one language often becomes confusing when attempting to learn the other. Some of the differences between the two are that Java applets can create stand-alone applications that work across platforms running as standalone programs. However, JavaScript cannot create these stand-alone applications and reside on an Internet browser. A programmer must compile Java code before the program can run. This requires an outside program just to compile the code. A compiler turns Java code into machine language code before a browser can interpret...
