Brad John and John Sencion were involved with the fashion industry before starting a company of their own called Flight 001. Flight 001 has retail stores located in San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York and Chicago that sell everything from cosmetics to luggage. John and Secion take great pride in creating a small boutique atmosphere with high quality products and friendly service. The problem that John and Sencion are experiencing with their store, Flight 001, is that they need to stand out among other competitors. There are many other stores that sell the same products that Flight 001 is trying to sell. The company has placed a great deal of effort into creating a unique shopping atmosphere for their customers as well as providing quality customer service. Since Flight 001 does not use traditional marketing strategies; the company needs to find more creative ways to reach their target market to stand out from their competitors. Flight 001 wants to be a one-stop shop for travelers, however, they understand that there are many similar stores with the same plan; Flight 001 desires to stand out from the crowd. They are aimed specifically towards “fashion-forward globetrotters”. The strengths of the company are that they are devoted to providing a unique experience for their customers. The stores have a modern design and are shaped like airplane fuselages, which is more interesting than your average travel store. Also, Flight 001 takes pride in their customer service. They ensure that all employees are helpful and kind people. Although these strengths are aimed towards standing out, Flight 001 also possesses a few disadvantages. These needs were not met because they wanted to be treated as employees who want to devote their own skills, abilities and knowledge to help succeed the company but, instead they were treated like tools and “just a number”. The need for safety is that she felt she had no job security with her previous employer and she was just another employee who if she didn’t meet expectations could be replaced at any time without a second thought. ...nothing nice to say it can turn out hurting you more than helping you. That’s why I choose flight. Being able to fly anywhere at any time would be the most enjoyable and exciting way to travel. I have had dreams where I was able to fly and it felt so real was unforgettable. I am very passionate about surfing, so to be able to wake up in the morning to go check out the waves with my surfboard and board shorts would be prodigious. Just the view from up high would let you see the waves better and see where the sets were coming in and breaking better. According to this hierarchy and Shank’s comments, her previous employer failed to meet employee basic needs in four of the five categories. The security category is the first group of needs that he has not provided. In order to stay motivated, employees need to have stability and job security.
