Flanders’ promotion through Chocolate

I. The passionate communities

After an intensive search on Internet we did not find very popular blogs and forums that focus solely in chocolates or sweets or candies. Their importance and popularity was measured based on their ranking and visitors’ country (in order to ensure that they are visited by English-speaking counties) in Alexa.com (Alexa is a company that provides analytics for websites) and based on the number of subscribers, likes on Facebook and followers on twitter. Another limitation was that almost all those blogs were not associated with traveling in order to taste chocolate and sweets.
Therefore we decided to look for food blogs. Generally speaking we found out that food blogs are more popular – based on the factors that are mentioned above – which seems to be logical as the topic of food is broader than the topic of chocolates. Here are some examples:

Chocolate-covered Katie is the most influential blog in terms of Facebook likes (around 76000) and Twitter followers (almost 15000). The blog states that you have to eat what you truly desire in order to be happy.

Chocablog is based in London with a dedicated team of writers from around the world, their mission is to find and review the best chocolate in the world.
