One of my jobs involves customer service. Customer Service entails much patience, and listening skills with each different person that approach me every day. Staying up to date with each customer involves multitasking and building a relationship while understanding their needs. Recently, I have noticed my job has become a way for me to enhance my techniques to starting my profession confidently and strongly.
Building different relationships with people is my main focus to conquer handling and understanding being in the Human Services field. When in school, I must have a presentable outlook about myself because I consider my school a professional environment. School is the place I groom the professionalism habit into my body. In class I take notes, interact and participate with others. Also, a Human Service professional requires me taking motes, listening and interacting with different clients. The most important fact is to make sure I understand the material in class and also understand the clients’ problems and situations they may approach me with when I become a professional worker.
There are many populations for me to choose from; therefore, I choose to work with teenage families. By, working with teenage families, I would learn how differently each teenage parent is treated or how they react to situations such as having their own family. I would learn different ways to encourage them that, they would still be able to have a life even though their life has made a tremendous change of a baby.
To get the feel of the population I would like to work with, I use my skills and volunteer my services. When I volunteer, I gain experience, meet new people, learn something new, gain leadership skills, and get to know my community or neighborhood, help someone and mostly share my skills daily. I need to learn the way to leave an impact on individuals that receive any help from me. I must learn to have my own technique of helping others, not only listening and patience, but the order of putting clients in need of help back to a road of confidence by themselves.
As a result, I envision my career path as a social worker visiting different facilities, homes and seeing different teenage clients due to their pregnancy. I see myself helping not only single teenage moms to stay in school and be active, but also staying connected with the babies’ fathers. I will hone my skills by reading and revising my paper work every day. Information I may not understand in particular sessions with clients I would research to make sure I can better assist the client. I would make sure and have a clean understanding of it just in case I am approached with any unknown situations.
Lastly, I chose human services as a profession to pursue because I enjoy knowing I can help people feel stable. My goals are set to accomplish helping the most people I can in my life. I know when I see the clients I have helped, there would be a happy feeling in my heart. Enjoying my job is my main focus, and I know as a Human Service professional I can successfully be satisfied.…...

The more energy we have, the more we produe. In order to get some energy we need sources like nuclear power which harmful for the world. There are several reasons such as money, safety and failures for this. Firs of all, producing energy from nuclear power is very expensive. Although it seems the best way to generate energy, the fuel itself is expensive. Moreover, building and operating power plants are not cheap at all. Hiring workers and the crews of engineers and scientist is neccessary. Beside that, the teams need a training program. Plus, the conditions need to be safe for people who workk there and live in the city or country that they work in. Hiring, training and making the conditions safe means money. ...Should the Unemployed Receiving Benefits Be Drug Tested? Drug testing the unemployed will help to ensure that those receiving benefits are using the money for good. In today’s world and economy many people are unemployed. Most of them are unemployed due to no fault of their own. They are good hardworking people who were laid off. They help their neighbors, volunteer whenever possible, and do many things out of the goodness of their hearts. Bad things happen to good people. That’s where the unemployment agency comes in. When people are laid off or fired, they can receive benefits from the unemployment agency. In June 2011, the unemployment rate was at 9.2 percent (www.tradingeconomics.com). This is lower than most of last year, but it is still high. There are many people who are actively seeking jobs, but there are also those that are sitting at home dealing drugs. Many that are actively looking for jobs are being cut short on unemployment benefits because of the amount of people sitting at home dealing drugs. Gas is high and to look for a job most people have to drive from place to place. If you are being cut short on your unemployment benefits how can you afford to look for a job and still put food on the table? My suggestion is to drug test those receiving unemployment benefits. I believe even the threat of this will stop some people from abusing the system. This will help the people who are honest and trying to be able to get by while they are searching for a job.......

...Week 8: International Norms. * How to think about diplomacy less about actors and more about the processes. There are more than just the traditional actors now. How do INGOs try to exercise leverage/influence? * NGOs use institutions to try to leverage their pressure/policies. * Combat negative policy choices and advance the positive ones: * Dissemination of alternative information: ex: Israeli bombing of gaza in past eras….you would not know much back then, but now it’s instantaneous. * Experts!!! Build expert authority… * Get allies!! Build a network, get support. * The importance of public diplomacy, i.e. the courtroom of public opinion. * Short-term high politics on acute crisis issues vs. long term transnational chronic social issues. COMPLIANCE: CAN STATES CHANGE THEIR BEHAVIOR? * Classic advocacy for norm diffusion: * The spiral model of how norms work: Risse, Ropp, Sikkink (RRS)- CASCADE MODEL (how to turn a state from not doing something into doing it): * Repression: ex state promoting torture. You step in and condemn torture…. * Denial: we don’t torture, or we have to torture, or we use humane ways of torture. * Tactical concessions (the tipping point – entrapping repressive govs) : ex: we’ll stop torture over 30 years, or use medical torture etc… tipping point: so many tactical concessions that everyone starts to change all together. * Prespective......

...Ms. Q English Comp. II T/Th 8:30 6 October 2014 Ketteler, Judi. "Critical Essay on 'To the Virgins, to Make Much of Time'." Poetry for Students. Ed. Elizabeth Thomason. Vol. 13. Detroit: Gale Group, 2001. Literature Resource Center. Web. 6 Oct. 2014. Ketteler states that “To the Virgins, to Make Much of Time” it is “highly readable” carpe diem poem. Ketteler points out that it also contains underlying messages such as “uplift”, “waste no time”, and “live your life to the fullest”. Despite the optimistic view, Ketteler also shows a more serious side to the poem that talks about death and decay, very much like “cycle of life.” She talks about the blend of idea of Christianity and Paganism ritual. Ketteler mentioned that life is paradoxical and full of dilemmas, that one thing connects/leads to another. Overall, there is no one perspective of the poem, whether is encouraging virgins to lose their virginity, living life to the fullest, use time wisely, or follow dreams. To Ketteler there are no specific way to put it. Ketteler brought up a good point that there is no one way to interpret “To the Virgins, to Make Much of Time.” Just the title itself, it can be looked at in various ways, such as virgins should not waste time and should go explore sexual counterparts, or value the time as virgins because it wont last forever (until marriage). In the article, life and death are at constant conflict, as time passes, death is near but yet it says to cherish the present.......

...[pic] A Letter From the Editor The crabs-in-a-barrel mind-set is certainly nothing new. But it seems sometimes to take on an entirely new dimension in our community. This came to me one day as I overheard two sisters talking on the subway while on the way to work. They were engrossed in a conversation about a friend of theirs who had decided to leave her job to start her own business. The two women quickly rattled off a list of reasons why their "friend" was destined to fail. Ask yourself how many times you've let someone else's fear and negativity keep you from pursuing your dreams. Sometimes your ultimate success requires that you take a good, hard look at who is truly in your corner. It may seem counterintuitive that someone who claims to love you could be someone you need to distance from your life while you draw closer to those who sincerely believe in your dreams. One of the things I love about my own circle of friends is their unwavering loyalty. When one of us wants to launch a business, leave a job, buy a house, or pursue some other bold idea, we always encourage her by offering advice, sharing potential contacts, providing financial and emotional support, and cheering her on in our biweekly conference calls. True friends always have your back. No matter what. For more inspiration on achieving your goals, even when the cards seem stacked against you, read Essence’s magazine profile of Michelle Obama. Compare and Contrast Essat Nathaniel Hawthorne's "Young Goodman Brown" and Thomas Wolfe's "The Child by Tiger"

...compare and contrast essay Nathaniel Hawthornes "Young Good man Brown" and Thomas Wolfe's "The Child By Tiger" @@@@@ ENGL: Literature and Composition 2011 Robert James Tebow 15 December 2011 Introduction: I. Nathaniel Hawthorne’s short story “Young Goodman Brown” and Thomas Wolfe’s short story “The Child by Tiger” show glaring similarities in many parts of each stories structure. Even though these stories were set in different time periods and different cultures, there is unity in their conflicts, themes, and author’s purpose. a. In Hawthorne’s piece the basic conflict arises early in the story, this is Goodman Brown’s choice to either join in the satanic activities or maintain his puritan beliefs. b. Goodman Brown realizes the public’s weakness in morality and faith. Brown experiences a great deal of disappointment especially when he sees his old bible teacher Goody Cloyse and Deacon Goonkin with the devil. c. Although Brown saw the people in his community participating in these activities that are contrary to his beliefs, he still was not sure if it was true or only a dream. d. My deepest sympathy goes out to the main character Goodman Brown. He distanced himself from the community after their alleged sinful activity according to Brown, but it could have been a dream which shows what can happen to those who have unproven assumptions of others. II. “The child by Tiger” wrote by Thomas Wolfe shows the ever present......

...March 23, 2010 marked a momentous occasion for President Barack Obama and the 111th United States Congress. This is the day that the 44th President of the United States of America signed the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. This was the largest social legislation passed in decades. Just one week later, on March 30, 2010, President Barack Obama enacted the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010 in order to amend the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. (Stolber and Pear, A19) Together they make enormous changes to health care services in the United States. This health care act affects everybody in the United States. This act will not only impact everyone as an individual, but it will also impact businesses as a whole. For this reason, this is something that everyone in America should have a clear understanding about. One of the main points of the new health care reform is to ensure that all Americans have insurance. With insurance not having been mandatory before, Americans who were uninsured had to deal with several financial problems when it came to paying medical bills. There are several individuals that do not have any medical insurance because they either do not have a job or the job that they do have does not offer insurance. And even some people who have the option to have insurance may not buy if because they don’t want to pay for it. And then these same people who have the option to have it but choose not to may end up using a......
