I just recently changed career fields. I chose to pursue an MBA degree to change careers from education to business. I only began working my new job at the beginning of November. However, in the first week we already had a branch meeting where we discussed profits, losses, and other different statistical analysis of the company. This is my first experience in this setting so even if it was just a small look into what is ahead, for me it was exciting and fascinating to see such immediate results of my MBA work being put to use.

The company that I currently work for is one that allows for a lot of growth opportunities for their employees. They encourage vision, entrepreneurship, forward thinking, and personal development. I believe that in a few years time I will have great opportunity to move upward and forward in the company, and I know that the knowledge of this class will help me to see the business from different angles. I think that this class will give me an upper hand on some of the other employees as I am going to work extra hard to move up the ladder quickly.

Taking this Quantitative Business Analysis class allows me to keep a greater perspective on the big picture and my larger goals. I can function in my current role, but this class has shown me how to look at the company I work for – and strategically plan how to advance. It has highlighted some areas of strength to capitalize on and some areas of weakness to improve. Just this past week we got sent an email update that showed several different charts, graphs, and excel excerpts comparing our branch to the company as a whole and our branch performance from the same month last year, etc. As I continue to put into practice what I have been learning in this class I hope that is prepares me and propels me into management.…...

...connection between the reader and the subject. In other words, engages the reader's attention: there is often place for ingenuity here. An opening statement is a generalization about something, something like Poetry is a complex subject or AIDS is a serious problem. It is similar to a topic sentence, but an opening statement introduces the topic of an essay and a topic sentence introduces the topic of a body paragraph. An opening Statement should not contain: Overgeneralizations. Everybody likes music (there are people who does not like music). Things that are untrue. 93 % of students fail their degrees. Debatable ideas. Football is the greatest sport in the world. This is pure opinion. Vague ideas. Opening statements as since History began or from the beginning of times, Man has practised religion should be avoided. Background information. It gives some general information: often this is a justification for bringing up a particular subject. The background information gives reasons for which is necessary to write about this to write about it. Thesis statement. It explains the basic purpose of the essay, whether it is going to be description, explanation, argumentation - and what general lines this will take. The body paragraph. Structure. Topic introducer. This part is optional. It is more general than a topic sentence (see below) ant it does NOT include in embryo all that follows in the paragraph. Its function is to lead up to the matter......

Discussion Essay Online Dating

...Discussion Essay Whether or not to take part in online-dating websites has become a dispute over the years. Common dating techniques have changed as more people prefer online dating over the traditional way. If the rise of meeting online continues, social media platforms create a radical alternative to the traditional dating. Based on the positive and negative effects of online dating, this essay discusses whether meeting online is a possible alternative. A key point of online dating is the ability to screen numerous potential partners; it even brings “people from disparate backgrounds” together in person argues Lewis Kraus. Looking for candidates who meet the criteria over the internet, online dating is a fast and comfortable way in a full-time job. If a match seems not compatible anymore, it may take a simple click of a button. This may not be possible in the traditional way without hurting somebody’s feelings. Online dating allows an overview-screening of the candidate before a conversation is even started. This advantage makes dating websites like eHarmony guarantee that “first date jitters will be no more”. (Anonymous, 1) Having a guaranteed variety of choices may be a radical change from the original dating when it used to be hard to meet potential partners, let alone meeting compatible matches. However, online dating is questioned by many due to the issue of safety. Many dating websites have fake profiles and the dated person, might turn out differently......

... ACOM 115 ASSIGNMENTS 2 DISCUSSION ESSAY Topic: Iron deficiency anaemia is a condition which affects many women during pregnancy, in developing countries. Discuss the causes and effects of iron deficiency anaemia on both mother and baby. Introduction Anaemia in pregnancy continues to be a major public health problem and it affects more than 56 million women worldwide (Imdad, & Bhutta, 2012). The world health organisation estimates that 58% of pregnant women in developing countries are anaemic. The greatest burden of anaemia is borne by Asia and Africa where it is estimated that 60% and 52% of women, respectively, are anaemic, and between 1% and 5% are severely anaemic (Guidotti, 2000). Multiple factors lead to anaemia in pregnancy, nutritional iron deficiency is the most common cause of anaemia (Guidotti, 2000). Iron deficiency anaemia (IDA) is due to insufficient iron, without enough iron, human body can't produce enough haemoglobin, which a substance in red blood cells, so that they cannot carry oxygen to body tissues (Mayo Clinic, 2014). ... Organizational Structure Collaborative Discussion Buckleigh Brown MGT/230 6/15/20105 Lastacy Whitman As a whole the team watched the video and then when it came to the organizational structure of different companies it looks like we see that the functional organization style seems to be the most desired for large companies. You have the business broken down into different department and within those departments you have a department head that report directly to the chief executive officer or the owner and he decides the direction and policy that will be implemented within each department and then the department heads disseminate that information or policy back down through their respective department. The cons of this though would be a department to start thinking autonomously and now looking at how their department is part of the whole. We also saw how a divisional organizational style seems to be good for sales type companies. Instead of departments you have regions and within those regions you have areas with a single manager in each that reports up. You would have to have the managers to be knowledgeable about all aspects of the company do to the fact that they are responsible for the performance of the whole area or region. If you have strong leadership you can really tell as a chief executive officer or an owner what regions are doing better than the others and it forces managers to spotlight their leadership. The cons of this type of structure is if you have......

Mental Health Discussion Essay

...How can culture and history impact on service delivery? As a staff working in a community services industry, sometimes we may find it is very difficult and frustrating to build an open and trusting relationships with people come from diverse backgrounds and vice versa. This is usually due to a lack of understanding about their cultural and historical backgrounds which might have a big impact on issues related to their social and emotional wellbeing and mental health. There are many cultural and historical factors that we (staff) need to acknowledge in order to work with CALD people as well as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders. By having an insight understanding and knowledge of their history and its context, it is very helpful for us to identify the recent impacts they have on communities and how we can work with them. It is also undeniable that culture and history affects their present and future. Especially for the Aboriginal people, the history had given them many tough and bad experiences which may affect the way they perceive or interact with other people. What is cultural safety? According to William (1999), cultural safety is defined as :” An environment that is spiritually, socially and emotionally safe, as well as physically safe for people; where there is no assault challenge or denial of their identity, of who they are and what they need. ...->Organization ->Planning and Budgeting ->Accounting Considerations ->Analysis and Management Reports ->Revisions and Data Maintenance Alternative Assessment: There are generally two kinds of data used in educational assessment or evaluation, quantitative and qualitative. A quantitative measurement uses values from an instrument based on a standardized system that intentionally limits data collection to a selected or predetermined set of possible responses. Qualitative measurement is more concerned with detailed descriptions of situations or performance, hence it can be much more subjective but can also be much more valuable in the hands of an experienced teacher. Tasks used in performance-based assessment include essays, oral presentations, open-ended problems, hands-on problems, real-world simulations and other authentic tasks. Such tasks are concerned with problem solving and understanding. Just like standardized achievement tests, some performance-based assessments also have norms, but the approach and philosophy are much different than traditional standardized tests. The underlying concept is that the student should produce evidence of accomplishment of curriculum goals which can be maintained for later use as a collection of evidence to demonstrate achievement, and perhaps also the teacher's efforts to educate the child. Performance-based assessment is sometimes characterized as assessing real life, with students assuming......
