Introduction:
ABC, INC hired Carl Robins as their new company recruiter. He is now facing a huge challenge. Carl has only been employed for six months and recruited 15 new personnel to work for the operations department. It seems that his lack of experience has now put him in a tight spot, this just weeks before new hire orientation.
Background:
The new campus recruiter Carl Robins hired 15 new personal in early April. He had arranged for them to start working in July, on May 15 Monica Carrols the operations department supervisor contacted Carl about the upcoming training for the new hires. Monica informed Carl about the training schedule, orientation, manuals, policy booklets, Physicals, and drug tests. Cal assured Monica that everything would be arranged in time. The day after Memorial Day Carl started to finalize all the paper work he found that some trainees had incomplete paper work, missing transcripts the drug screening had not been completed also. Training Manual were incomplete and not even enough for the new hire training. The training room had been reserved for computer training by Joe.
Key Problems: Problems started when Carl thought everything was easy or all the paper work was ready and complete. Carl waited till after Memorial Day to even think about starting to review the paper work for the Upcoming orientation classes. Monica had only gotten in contact with Carl on May 15 and he said that it would all be taken care of. Monica should have made more attempts to ensure Carl had everything ready. She is a supervisor and should have made more of an effort also. Carl had never made any attempts to check and see if the conference room was even available or try to find another location. As Carl noticed the upcoming dead line and nothing was going right he didn’t know what to do. The communications throughout the company seems to be very week. Each person had seemed to only talk with the other person one time.
Alternatives:
First to have a standard hiring procedure to ensure all prospective employees applications were complete even before any interviews were to be conducted. Also to make a company policies standard throughout for training of new employees. Then to be specific to each department. When all hiring is complete compromise a check sheet letting each possible employee know what will be needed to be complete. Also to call them and let them know about their drug screening and physical apt are located at.

Proposed Solutions: ABC, INC needs to step back and start from scratch. They have to look at how there hiring process has to change. Also each department need’s to look at which positions need to be filled. Then also have to determine the qualifications/degree needed for the job being filled. The Human resources department (HR) also needs to be involved in the hiring and training process. They are the ones who would let all new hires aware of all requirements after being hired. They would be able to tell them about their physicals, drug test or any other information that the company would need. Also if there was a training department at ABC INC they would benefit also. The training department would be responsible for the conference rooms and all training material.
Recommendations:
The recommendations to resolve the issues that are ABC, INC is to first put together a training team. With at least one person from each department. This would ensure enough personnel to help gather all the information for each training schedule. The training team would also be in charge of the scheduling of the conference rooms. Then start check sheets for phone calls that were conducted with new hires. Informing them of had to be completed before the orientation day started.

Conclusion: The training and communications programs are very important among all employees in a company. Making sure that you as an employee or a supervisor know what your duties are. So weather you are in the upper chain of command or the lower work force its always important to do everything you can to keep you company working smoothly.…...
