Omnibus Bill

...Congress Differences between a bill and an omnibus bill To answer the question what is the difference between a bill and an omnibus bill we need to start with what is a bill. As stated in many the schoolhouse rocks video a bill is an idea for a new law that a congress man sponsors to become a law. A bill for the most part deals with a specific item or problem. Once a bill in introduced in congress it goes to a committee. In committee the bill is debated. In committee amendments can be added to a bill and the language in the bill can be changed. If the committee votes to approve the bill it will go to the full House to be voted on. If approved it moves to the Senate and the process starts again at the committee. If the Senate passes it the bill goes to the president to be signed to become a law. Now let’s answer the question what is an omnibus bill. An omnibus bill is defined as a bill that combines amendments to several laws or measures on diverse subjects into one bill, such as reconciliation bills, combined appropriation bills, spending bills and private relief and claims bills. ...Bill Davis Davis 1 Professor ENG 111 15 September 2010 Not Your Typical Fast Food Restaurant When you first look think of McDonald’s, you probably think of just a place to pick up a quick, cheep meal. In some cases, this is true. McDonalds is one of the most widely known and popular fast food restaurants around the world. It may not be a place for a romantic date, but there are not too many places you can go have a dinner with your family with the bill coming out to be under twenty dollars. Sure the food may be unhealthy, but it is the cheapest and most efficient route to satisfying your appetite. This may be why McDonald’s has become such a powerful food chain. But after visiting I realized the many different features that make this restaurant so attracting to people. Around lunchtime at noon, I walked across the parking lot, I noticed the drive through was packed with people just waiting to get their meals and get on the road. So I walked inside the doors of the McDonald’s, passed the cashier, and took a seat in one of the booths in the dining area. The booths were big and comfortable and they were all along walls of the dining area. This area was designated for people that wanted to sit down and enjoy their meals. People are spread out around the tables and booths far enough to where they are not invading other peoples conversations. ...

Rh Bill

...A GUIDE TO ARGUMENTS FOR AND AGAINST THE REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH BILL This matrix has been prepared by a group of Catholics who feel that a systematic comparison of the arguments for and against the reproductive health (RH) bill may still serve some purpose at this juncture. It may help to bring the debate from the emotional temper which has characterized it thus far, to a more rational temper in which both sides attempt to comprehend each other’s perspectives. It is hoped that this presentation will allow each side to view the other’s argumentation as the legitimate offering of reasons in good faith which ought to characterize a democratic process of deliberation. Such a process must be valued equally by all who are committed to living together in a democracy, be they Catholic or non-Catholic, pro- or anti-contraception. Questions in the final column are provided to aid further reflection, with a view to clarifying positions and, perhaps, to building compromises that are morally and politically acceptable to both sides. Each time, after the bill was introduced to the house, it was referred to some committee for improvements a joint committee of parliament, or a departmental standing committee of the Home Ministry, and before the government could take a final stand on the issue, the house was dissolved. The Bill of Rights were created to put limits on government’s power over the people and extend the powers to the citizens of the United States of America. James Madison wrote the bill of rights (Who wrote the bill of rights, 1), but he was not a true supporter of the bill of rights and did not think that the constitution needed to be changed. Thomas Jefferson convinced Madison of the need to protect the people from the government no matter the size of the current government and together they wrote The Bill of Rights. Overdue Bills

...Course Project Case 32 Overdue Bills GM533 Introduction The National Minority Women in Business Institute (NMWBI) is a nonprofit networking organization for minority women business owners and entrepreneurs. For the past 25 years, NMWBI has served as the platform for more than 10 million women business owners to share resources, make economic decisions and influence public policy. NMWBI is a dues-based national organization representing the interest of minority women entrepreneurs in varying industries. (Nawbophx, nd) Historically, NMWBI has been very profitable. Unfortunately, NMWBI like many other organizations has been impacted by the economic recession. Two notable developments have occurred; new enrollment has declined by 30% with an increase in late dues payments. With that, NMWBI’s board of directors is concerned that the number of days to collect the payments is influenced by the size of the bill. This may be impacting its profit margins. As a result, the principles of NMWBI have consulted a statistical analysis firm, Market Probe Inc. (MPI) to evaluate data, along with the receivables management team, provided to them about NMWBI’s overdue payments. The findings of MPI have been summarized and drafted in a brief memo to the board addressing the concern and to advise of any impact between the amount of the bill and the number of days to collect payment and recommendations as needed. Bill Clinton

...An essay on Bill CLinton In this essay I will consider the social, economic and political factors of Bill CLinton. Underestimate Bill CLinton at your peril. Indispensable to homosapians today, it is yet to receive proper recognition for laying the foundations of democracy. It is an unfortunate consequence of our civilizations history that Bill CLinton is rarely given rational consideration by those most reliant on technology, who form the last great hope for our civilzation. In the light of this I will break down the issues in order to give each of them the thought that they fully deserve Social Factors While some scholars have claimed that there is no such thing as society, this is rubbish. When blues legend 'Bare Foot D' remarked 'awooooh eeee only my dawg understands me' [1] he failed to understand that if one seriously intends to 'not judge a book by its cover', then one must read a lot of books. Both tyranny and democracy are tried and questioned. Yet Bill CLinton raises the question 'why?' Nothing represents every day life better than Bill CLinton, and I mean nothing. If society has a favourite child, it is Bill CLinton. Economic Factors Derived from 'oikonomikos,' which means skilled in household management, the word economics is synonymous with Bill CLinton. We will study the Greek-Roman model. For those of you unfamiliar with this model it is derived from the Three-Amigos model but with greater emphasis on the outlying gross national......

No to Rh Bill

...Rh Bill N O T O R E P R O D U C T I V E H E A L T H B I L L ! With the population of the country growing fast—three births following only one death of an individual—the government has been frantic about what to do as a response. Overpopulation has been one of the reasons why Philippines has been on twelfth of the most populated countries in the world and maybe even why our country tops the list of the poorest countries in the world. In response to it, some members of the government last July of the year 2010 proposed House Bill No. 96 otherwise known as the Reproductive Health Bill. What are the contents of this bill that it has been the source of debates until today? Why does the church and some activists earnestly disagree with it if will help lessen the growing population of the country? What is the Reproductive Health Bill or RH Bill? The RH Bill is a bill that allows the usage of mechanical and chemical barriers such as pills, condoms and IUDs (intrauterine devices). Moreover, this bill strictly states that sex education should be taught to students starting from the third grade. Thus, it requires and allows every doctor to give barriers and perform medical processes. Any doctor who will refuse to do such acts will be charged fifty thousand pesos. In accordance to the Family Planning Survey in 2006, 2.6 million Filipinas would like to plan their families but they lack information and access to do so. 44% of the pregnancies in the poorest quintile......

Bills of Lading

...BILLS OF LADING Chapter 1: Introduction The purpose of this assignment is to identify and understand the differences between the two types. Therefore, their legal definition will be presented as well as, where and how each of them should be used appropriately, in order to avoid misunderstanding between the involved parties which, unfortunately could lead them to court. Furthermore, past cases such as, “APL vs. Peer Voss and the Rafaela S”, will be mentioned in order to distinguish the difference between a seaway and a straight bill of lading. Chapter 2: Literature Review 2.1 Bills of Lading The bill of lading (B/L) is used for the transportation of goods by sea. The word “lading” derives from the word loading, referring to the loading of goods onto a ship. Bill

...More views against the RH bill are pouring in. Apparently they have not been considered by the Lower House Committee before the bill was endorsed to the entire body for approval in the plenary session. Hence for the enlightenment of our legislators and the entire citizenry, presented here are some more of these views, one of them coming from a lawyer Atty. Rex A. Salvilla who clearly and ably refutes some stand of the bill’s advocates: “First, the advocates say that the opponents of RH bill are anti-poor for allowing population explosion. This is not true because the opponents, like the advocates are also for population control. Both differ only on the method of control – the advocates thru condom which cost money while the opponents thru natural family planning which costs not a single centavo but only mere discipline on the part of the spouses So, who is anti-poor? It is the advocates. Second, the advocates say that they are pro-choice. This is not also true. The draft bill contains a penal clause punishing by imprisonment and/or fine those obstructing the use of condoms and promoting family planning. Is this not like tying a person to a post and telling him, “You are free”? So, where is “pro-choice” here? In fact, the bill is a “no-choice” piece. Third, the advocates say that the Pope supports condom use. This is interpreting the Pontiff out of context. The Pope simply provided an exception in the same way that God has also provided exceptions to His own commandments.......
