...Analytical Response to Male Pregnancy Male Pregnancy by Dick Teresi and Kathleen McAuliffe support that the technology and the demand for male pregnancy will be possible in the future. They specifically state that, "Someday a man will have a baby". They have written this article in an attempt to show why they believe this will one day become accepted and widely practiced. However, I disagree with Teresi and McAuliffe. I feel male pregnancy will never be freely practiced or accepted by any means. Teresi and McAuliffe start out their article by explaining what their general idea is for male pregnancy to occur. They state, "What we're talking about is implanting an embryo into a man's abdominal cavity, where the fetus would take nourishment, grow to term, and be delivered by an operation similar to a cesarean section. Already, this idea seems illogical to me. As a result of a man being pregnant, there must be a cesarean section to remove the baby. Even for women, this is a risk doctors prefer to avoid if possible. It puts the mother at a much greater risk of inj... ... middle of paper ... ...lt Teresi and McAuliffe's arguments for pursuing the technology of male pregnancies is not strong enough to actually do further research in the area. I feel that females are biologically established for birth where men's bodies naturally can not give birth. It seems illogical to try to change a system that has worked so well for so many years. If there is a technology......

Analytical Framework

...analytical An analytical framework for evaluating e-commerce business models and strategies Chung-Shing Lee The author Chung-Shing Lee is Director of Electronic Commerce Resource Center and an Assistant Professor of Information Systems and Technology Management in the School of Business at Pacific Lutheran University, Tacoma, Washington, USA. Keywords Internet, Economy, Innovation, Strategy Abstract Electronic commerce or business is more than just another way to sustain or enhance existing business practices. Rather, e-commerce is a paradigm shift. It is a ``disruptive’’ innovation that is radically changing the traditional way of doing business. The industry is moving so fast because it operates under totally different principles and work rules in the digital economy. A general rule in e-commerce is that there is no simple prescription and almost no such thing as an established business or revenue model for companies even within the same industry. Under such conditions, an analytical framework is needed to assist e-commerce planners and strategic managers in assessing the critical success factors when formulating e-commerce business models and strategies. This research develops an analytical framework based on the theories of transaction costs and switching costs. Both demand-side and supply-side economies of scale and scope are also applied to the development of this framework. In addition, e-commerce revenue models and strategies are also discussed. Based on the......

...Samuel Smoot 08/19/2013 GVPT World Nature Organization Analytical Writing Assignment - Due End of Week 3 I chose to write my analytical paper on the World Nature Organization. The World Nature Organization is dedicated to the protection of the environment at international level. Its main focus is on energy efficiency, climate protection, sustainable development and a sustainable energy supply. As a platform, the WNO tries to build bridges between business interests as well as development and environmental protection while, at the same time, making the economic value of nature apparent. The mission of the WNO is to promote activities, technologies, economies, and renewable energies which are regarded to be environment friendly; and reducing the impact of climate change. The foundation of the World Nature Organization is one of the key outcomes of multilateral environmental protection negotiations. The role of the Organization is to turn declarations into implementable actions and to support the protection of the environment and climate at an international level. The statements stated above are the reasons I chose the World Nature Organization to write my analytical paper on because at times we are so focused on the wrong things in International relations and often forget about the environment. Nature is very important for multiple reasons as we use natural energy all the time and at times abuse it. While one of the WNO’s......

Analytical Paper: the Veldt

...Warner 1 Nicholas Warner Instructor Grubbs English 112 26 Feb. 2015 Analytical Paper: The Veldt While many stories arguably have a hidden meaning, Ray Bradbury’s short sci-fi story “The Veldt” is often seen as one of the greatest examples; showing how families are too reliant on technology. The story is about a family who has recently moved into a new, more technologically advanced house with all sorts of mechanical wonders, which the children soon come to put on a pedestal and worship. The children also develop a disturbing reliance on all of the machines that are in their new home. The parents notice the house acting strangely and decide to shut it off, but the children don’t take it very well and it doesn’t end well for the parents. In the story Bradbury has created a utopia, but in the case of Bradbury’s creation, a lot of things go wrong, and the Hadleys’ world is turned on its head. Bradbury’s poetic writing style takes the reader out of the everyday world and into a fantasy world, not unlike a child’s fantasy. The world of “The Veldst” takes children’s fantasy and makes it concrete. Phrases in the story such as “Nothing is too good for our children” and “Every home should have one” (Bradbury, “The Veldt”) bring the reader’s attention to the material worship that dominate many American households. Warner 2 In this dark and troubling story, Bradbury shows the dangers that are quite possible with the speed and advancement of technology and how important......

Analytical Paper

...General Senses The body’s internal and external environments are detected by special cells called sensory receptors, which are sensitive to specific stimulus. The general senses have simple neural pathways, and consist of touch, pain, chemical, pressure detection, and body position or proprioception. Sensory neurons monitor specific regions called receptive fields which enables the brain to detect where a stimulus was applied to the body. The greater the receptive field the greater difficulty you have to localize the stimulus. The advantage of having a larger receptive field is having a larger area to receive signals. The disadvantage of having a large receptive field is having a hard time trying to pinpoint where the stimulus is. Take an itch for example, and this is so true because it happens to me all the time you get an itch on your back and you know the area where the itch is located you just can’t find where the exact location of itch is. The link between a receptor and the cortical neuron or the brain and cerebral cortex that carries the modality of the stimulus is the labeled line. This is critical for quick processing of tactile, pressure, vibration, or temperature modality. There is two different types of receptors phasic or fast adapting which are inactive, then activated by a stimulus. These receptors respond strong at first and then decline. Root hair plexus would be an example of a phasic receptor. A tonic or slow adapting receptor is always active. A pain......

Individual Leadership Analytical Paper

...Individual Leadership Analytical Paper November 25, 2014 Abstract In order for a leader to be effective they must balance their approach to leadership. A leader cannot focus solely on the development of subordinates at the expense of the organization’s goals, and they cannot focus solely upon the organization while neglecting the people within it. In this paper I examine the leadership of one of my previous superiors to attempt to determine if his approach was effective, and why or why not. Introduction Leadership within the United States army is primarily focused upon accomplishment of the organization’s mission. That mission is to fight and win the nation’s wars (U.S. Army). There are many other areas of focus which support the primary mission. Leaders must ensure their subordinate’s well-being, as a sick soldier cannot fight. Leaders must develop their subordinates, as the United States army has been around since the founding of the country and will still be there when the leader is gone. The next generation of leaders must be prepared to take over and continue the army’s mission. Leaders must instill confidence in their subordinates. One area of focus which can sometimes be forgotten at lower levels is the appearance of soldiers. When soldiers look professional, fit, well-equipped, and prepared they inspire confidence in the civilian population. Americans, and others, view professional appearing soldiers as more competent and thus respect them......

...conversation between the two of us at times. Anyone who knows either of us knows that if you’re hanging out with the two us you’re in for a day filled with laughs and acts of randomness. I have known Andrew for eight years now and I can confidently say he is one of a kind. He is a completely unpredictable person and I think that’s why I am so close with him. When thinking of the similarities between Andrew and myself, I think the fact that we enjoy each other’s company so much makes us as close as we are. We are two individuals, although we relate on many things, we aren’t the same person and have different views and thoughts on many subjects. When I got together with Andrew recently and began discussing family, the first topic of my Analytical Paper, Andrew replied, “I don’t have a family”. Now - 1 - before he gets the poor and abused label, this is the type of thing Andrew says on a daily basis. He’s not the type of kid to sit down and have a serious conversation with you right away. If you want to hear what he has to say, it takes a little bit of dragging it out of him sometimes. However other times you can’t get him to be quiet. The fact was that I already knew about his views on family. “Responsibility, connection, commitment” Andrew hasn’t shown these qualities for eight years. When it comes to his family life, I’m embarrassed at times. If I ever talked to my mother or father the way Andrew does I might end up getting a backhand to the face.......
